Well I admit I had the heating on for an hour yesterday morning. I was just really feeling the cold, but I think I've got an ear infection ( it's kept me awake the last couple of nights ) so was feeling a bit under the weather and I think that might be why I was feeling the cold more. Took advantage of the heating being on and got some washing dried on the radiators at least, but it's definitely not going to be on regularly for a while yet, need to dig out the couple of throws I have and get them washed, we tend to just curl up on the sofa with those over us rather then put the heating on, unless it's really cold!Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!
Got married to my lovely hubby on 12/11/2011

OK during the day when I'm active, but sitting at night to read a book or watch TV I can't see the point in not being comfortable. (Speak to me again when the bills come in)!
My sympathy, I also suffer from this (and another metabolic problems which compounds this). I'm very rarely properly warm. I look at it the other way round most of the time....there is no point trying to get toast when its not going to happen, I just have to be ''ok''. I find the very best way FOR ME is to keep as active as possible when I'm cold...I imagine it gives my metabolism a bit of a boost. I also do A LOT more ironing in winter....even on a cold day one gets quite warm ironing:o plus we have lovely ironed stuff.:o

Ill health is a really good reason not to scrimp on heating OR nutrition and to shave expense anywhere else possible. Damaging health longterm really is not to be entertained as a MSE enterprise.
It makes absolute sense to use heating at such times for other things...but do be careful of over doing things when poorly. Post viral sydromes are wretched things and I am a striong advocate of babying oneself as much as possible. Another compromise might be to heat one room well while you are under the weather, and live mainly in there.0 -
No heating unless really necessary (bath night, washing night or ice on the windows I think!!)
I've started to wear slippers in thee evening as feet getting chilly.
WEIRD - how suddenly it's got so colder (glad not muggy though) and darker early. I feel cold / heat as my thermo-regulatory system is up the creek!!0 -
hi !!!!!! i switch my heating on and off because i cant set it to a temperature for the house
i have radiators that i can set but even if i set them at frost prevention it still means my heating is on all the time heating water and circulating it therefore costing me money even in the middle of summer thats why i switch it off and on manually. I would love to be able to set it to keep the house a certain temperature but that just isnt possible unfortunatelykonMarie and fabbing all the way

It's 10C here today, and breezy, but not as near as bad as the weekend was. Definitely doesn't feel like August though.0 -
