i would normally light a fire when its light this but haven't been able to this weekend so heating thermostat was overridden and on it came - it was lovely and I refuse to feel bad about it - I already had 2 pairs of socks, a thermal vest and a quilt over my legs!!!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Mine isn't on yet, apart from one evening when we had just got home from a holiday in a very warm place. We were all struggling to re-acclimatise. Anyway, we are back in the frozen north but putting on fleeces to keep warm at the moment. I feel the cold the most in our family but I have a couple of fleece blankets that I snuggle under in the evenings so I don't feel cold. I don't know how much longer it will be before we turn the heating on though, the weather seems to have become autumnal very quickly.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

I don't understand these people who switch their central heating off.
Mine is controlled by thermostat and timer. If the temperature warrants it then the CH operates. None of this switching off in March and switching on in October/November malarkey.
Just let it use the facilities built in!so they get turned of at the plug.

Hi everyone :hello:
i only posted a couple of days ago on the preparing for winter thread that i wondered how long it would be before this thread was up and running againI`m glad that i bookmarked it last year as it popped straight up when i logged in today.
IIRC last year i wanted to get to early November before i turned on the heating but i finally bombed a few days early at the end of October. I was really hoping to beat that this year but it seems that nature is against me.
The weather here atm is cold grey and drizzly and there is quite a nip to the air, DH & i should be ok for quite a while to come but i`m already planning on making indoor doggy coats from fleece for the woofaloes and i have a single duvet to cut in half so that i can cover each hound in a blanket which will be a good size to wash should the need arise.
Their beds are made from Single quilts with covers on and they have memory foam ones too so the bottom bits are well insulated against cold creeping into old doggy bones. Can anyone tell that our furry friends are important to usWell they can`t tell us that they are cold can they?
An awful lot of leaves are on the floor around here now so i think that summer is well and truly over and autumn has arrived early, think i`ll walk the woofaloes now before it starts raining heavily.
Where did our summer go!
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -

There is no choice but to turn mine off - the tank is empty and I don't have £955 to fill it. No oil, no central heating.0 -
