Is your heating ON or OFF?

Off since mid-March. The March bill was much higher than I expected considering we turned it off halfway through, so I'm determined not to put it on again till autumn. Jumper and socks if I feel cold.0

Ours has been off about a month now. The only time I notice the cold is in the evening, and then I pull a blanket over me and its nice and toasty.0

Mine's been off for a few weeks now, with the odd spell for baths for the babies. We put on the fire downstairs if it's cold after tea, but often snuggle on the sofa with !kea fleeces, no need for the fire then! Having said that, I'm frozen in here today, typing's slow cos my fingers are cold. Our heating will go on no earlier than October, usually nearer November, esp if prices keep going up. Our gas/elec costs are at nearly 8% of our income, even with being fairly careful!

We have ours off now since the bout of warm weather. We only have a one bedroom flat though so it's not too cold, especially if I've been cooking and the oven is on
I used to have the heating on a lot but I'm now learning to just put an extra layer on instead.
I have to admit though, it was quite chilly last night so I put the electric blanket on the warm up the bed for us. It was heaven to get into!

Interesting reading how hardy some of you are. I had my heating off all last week with the weather being so nice but yesterday it was back on again, I can't stand the cold my arthritis plays up. Just living room, kitchen and bathroom rads are on, bedrooms turned off even through the winter love my hotty bottle in bed but don't like stuffy bedroom.
Very cold house though ,apparently it faces north west and when the winds come it gets through every nook and cranny, never gets warm until the evening and I turn it off at 7pm until 6 am, and my gas bills are quite within my budget as I have a new Boiler and it has made a difference. You live..You learn.:)0 -

I am a hardy outdoorsy type, and I live alone, so there's things I can do to keep the heating bills down that perhaps people with families couldn't get away with. I haven't had my heating on for six weeks and it won't go on till November, and then only sparingly through the winter. I wear more clothes if I feel cold.
I have one bath a fortnight, the rest of the time I have a strip wash in the kitchen the old fashioned way, with one gas ring on for heat. I wear three teeshirts in the daytime and leave them on to go to bed in. Lucky that I don't sweat much and spend most of my time alone and outdoors. :rotfl:
