Even if we wanted to, we can't.....it's broken down!
The plumber has been on his hols but he's coming on Thursday to sort it out. So far we haven't missed it at all, apart from the hot water. We're having to use the immersion heater for that, which is probably costing a fortune, but thankfully it's supposedly still summer and so far so good and no need for heat yet.
Makes a change from the central heating breaking down in December or January!0 -

Nope, we won't for a while.... downstairs has had gch fitted, so hopefully when she puts her heating on, we'll manage with that and blankets until absolutely necessary!

OMG, Ive been asleep for three months and woken up in NOVEMBER. Its grey, wet and very windy.
Seriously though, we have our thermostat permanently set at 20, but we do turn the heating off at the controls from june to usually some time in september. Although i am thinking this year that we should light the fire instead (free logs), especially as I am 50 and my internal thermostat seems to have been turned up by about 10 degrees!!!!0 -
24 degrees outside today on the west coast of scotland and I am stuck inside working on the computer and getting my parcels ready for the post office, boohoo!!!.Yesterday was like winter but looks like we are finally getting a bit of summery weather.I expect to be putting the heating on from next week, usually have it on from 1st september."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0

After posting yesterday saying I hadnt put it on, I relented & put it on in the early hours to give the house a warm through, just for an hour mind !
Beautiful day here in Fife today so fingers crossed it continues for a bit longer

we relented last night as it was frezing and DD had the best nights sleep ever. She is usually a 5am waker yet this morning she didn't wake until the 6.18am alarm went off.
Could be coincidence but at least its warm!0 -
DH refuses to put the heating on in August on a principle thing! Obviously I am a free woman but I'm usually the tight one so I have to agree with him. I'm a Southern girl living in N Yorks so I have a right to be cold! We have two blankets on the bed and I have been sitting in the lounge with a blanket on (I'm 38!) - but at least the gas bill won't be too bad!Mother, wife, ex-teacher, ex-mortgage advisor, support worker, full-time woman!!
