we're in manchester and we haven't put ours on... having said that the housing association did put that stuff in the walls last autumn and we have double glazing, so that has made the flat as a whole much warmer. i'm actually sat here with the fan on, i'm quite warm, but then i have been working in the kitchen, sorting out jars of dried staple goods. I for one refuse to turn it on till November, at least, unless the temperatures drop below 10 in the daytime/5 at night!0

Thats two posts today where the rads come on with the hot water:eek: ..sounds an awful waste of energy in the summer months.I know solid fuel systems need a heat sink but there are ways round this.

I've had mine on quite a few times this summer, just for an hour or so when the kids are getting bathed as the bathroom is freezing. When we go to bed I blow hot air under the duvet with the hairdryer!
The kids wanted the heating on this morning as it was pretty cold.Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
I've not put the heating on yet but Boy, I really want to!
I might just run it for an hour - to check the pump's still working you understand as it's not been on since April.. I'll do it when I've got washing I can't dry outside though.
Going to try and hold out until October at the earliest. One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400

Well its been funyn weather here today - windy but warm so no heating on today apart from bf heating water for a bath but ive turned the thermostat rigth down so although our water is coming out nice and hot the radiators havent been on - woohoo sussed it.Fingers crossed im hoping to hold out until at least beginning of November if not longer but if the cold weather comes around quickly - which being in wales might be sooner rather than later i think i will have to get heat proofing the hosue soon - ie the duvets/fleece blankets out and aired etc!Time to find me again0

West coast of Scotland is quite chilly in the mornings now, even foggy last week.have had to put the heating on 3 or 4 times inside the last fortnight just to keep the evening chill at bay.
We are meant to be in for a few warm days here so I will probably set it to come on every day from next week.
We usually have ours on from 1 st September and off at end of May."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
I hope I won't need to put the heating on for a few months yet. It's not remotely cold, been wearing short sleeved shirt and shorts all day!Stompa0
