  • Scorching hot here in Glasgow but the heating would have gone on a couple of days ago if it wasn't for the fact it's August and I'm trying to pay off last winters bill befor the next winter gets here!

Wrapping me and the kids up in jumpers one day and got the paddling pool out the next!

I'm on storage heaters and if I HAD put them on a couple of days ago I think we would have slowly roasted today!

Little one has gone to bed in her all in one fleecy number to keep her warm. Luckly she's not old enough yet to say put the heating on Mummy - lol. Still staying put - not heating.

Please, please, please can we have a warm September?

  • Mine was on for 20 mins while the heating engineer did his annual service but apart from that it will be off until 1 November. The thermostat will be at 15C and it will be switched off again on 31 March.

No way that the heating is going on here. It's still summer, though it was a tad cold yesterday morning. Because I live in a block of flats it's best to keep my flat a bit cooler and take advantage of heat flow from the neighbours. I expect it to be at least 2 months until I turn it on.

Well mine's off again as it was roasting here today in Renfrewshire, maybe this is our Indian Summer?

  • It is getting a little chilly in the evenings now isn't it. It sounds worst for those of you in Scotland. My OH also has a principle thing going and probably won't put it on until November. though I still have the windows open at the moment, and it is supposed to be a nice weekend.

  • I just can't bear the thought of putting the heating on in August of all months! But it has been nippy enough for the idea to cross my mind. I put an extra blanket on my bed the other night instead, might have to fetch out the winter duvet if this chillyness goes on...
Never mind the house prices, I'm saving a deposit.

I was freezing when I got home in the early evening - rain rain rain all day here, and a chilly wind.

On top of that, consider that my flat, facing north, has large windows, so that practically all of the north side is one huge window - so you can imagine how chilly it can feel even with double glazing. I was determined however NOT to have the heating on so I made a nice cuppa, put on my fleecy dressing gown and settled down.

    :)

I guess London is a good deal warmer. Not even considered the need of a jumper, never mind heating.
