Very mild here in Liverpool this morning. Have to admit that the c/h is ON with a timer (7.00-8.30am and 7.00-9.00pm) and thermo set to 21 but it 'hasn't even clicked on this morning'.
This house DOES seem to hold the heat during the night - it's the early evenings when it seems to get very chilly.0 -
It's another mild, sunny day here.I'd happily leave the windows open all day,but have to go out.
Heating still off.0 -

I'd rather be cold and have to keep warm than have the dry heat from central heating and besides I have all my windows open from dusk till nightfall as I just love the fresh air.
I do this even when there is a heavy frost on the ground, always have done.
Makes me feel alive, central heating just makes me feel lethargic and thats not a nice feeling.
I'd much rather be chilly than hot/too hot.If it's too hot I feel very uncomfortable, almost like I'm suffocating-don't know how else to describe it!

Me too! My front door's still open most of the day, and I'm at my most uncomfortable walking round shops which have their heating at preposterous levels.. Overheating makes me lethargic and unhealthy feeling, and if I spend the day overheated I go to bed feeling depressed.
Oh, and mine's still off tooHave had a couple of quick one hour blasts, but only when it's been chilly at shower time. Mostly I shower after exercising in the morning, when I'm nicely warmed up.

yay! done it, off to my sisters later. taking lots of jumpers incase she hasnt has her coal delivery or put her heating on yet either!!! :P0

Sadly on a lot more than I wish it was. My family have started putting it on full when I am out. Yesterday I found the house overheated and nobody home. DS did it "to dry his laundry"! He was read the riot act and threatened with the bill charged to him - hopefully it will discourage him to be so cavalier with energy again.
However, because everybody feels quite cold in the evening and it is not always practical to gather in the living room where the woodstove is, we have relented and it is now on for a couple of hours from early evening, as well as half an hour before we get up.
The net result is that last night my throat was so dry that I had to open the window at night. I hate central heating but cannot really condemn the rest of the family to a cold house all the time! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
our heating is on and off at the moment (its on most evenings for a couple of hours and thats about it).
The thing is - i dont like central heating because i find it dries my skin out and makes my lips feel sore and makes me lethargic. Years ago i had solid fuel central heating and found this better than gas, cosy without leaving me feeling like a wrinkly prune!.
I like to light the woodburner - because that feels and looks so nice (and the fuel is generally free), however last night OH and I got wrapped up and sat in the back garden, lit the chimnea, shared a bottle of wine and set the world to rights (my idea of heaven) even if the neighbours think we are a little eccentric

My sympathies with the DS, turn the heating off totally for a few days and tell him this will be permenant if everyone doesn't get on board with the economies, tell all the rest of the family it's his fault and you hve to do without for a few days due to his greedy excess.
A few days of freezing his whatsit off, and everyone else having a go at him may bring it home to him what it's like to not have it.0
