Thaks for your support bluebag, but I have to say, to his credit, that he took on board the "riot act" that I read him and promised to be more careful. Now that he is 21 I am seeing a definite change in him and these incidents, which were very frequent when he was a teenager, have definitely decreased.
More than the cold, what I found effective (reading his expression) was the threat that I would charge him for a portion of the bills if this happened again, as he is saving like mad because he wants to go traveling! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Still off here but oh boy, I was sorely tempted this evening. I came home cold, exhausted and soaked. But I had a hot shower, cottage pie, lashings of tea and lit the fire ... sorted!Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

I am thinking about buying my wee dog a coat, I always thought they were naff but she looks cold, and she loves sitting in the garden, I am worried she will stay indoors all winter otherwise.
Now my DS1 who is 15 is always asking for gloves especially for when he is refereeing (football Ref).

Sounds like he just wasn't thinking, rather than not bothered.
I must admit to doing a lot of 'door!!' and 'lights!!!' shouting these days.
It's a wonder the neighbours don't complain.
Did you see the news that utilities are about to go up 7%.... I'm buying an igloo.:rotfl:0 -

Can you add me to the list.
I have been lurking for a while and reading this thread but I NEVER thought I would be able to keep the heating OFF until now.
Since, May it hasn't been on, so I am really chuffed with myself.
If I have lasted this long without it, I can last another 2 days.0 -
