Still off here, and the weather is rather mild so it will be staying off. :)

    OFF
I tried putting it on the other day but the dial's duff on my storage heater. Contemplating stapling insulation to my walls.

    Hi

Still off but it feels cold today. Might help if I close the window.:rotfl::) Hoping for 16 degrees later.

Still off. I am back to wearing t-shirts. Sun has just come out so living room warmed up to 21. Only need to make it to tomorrow then at my sisters. She has real coal fires so hopefully will have them up and running! then when we get back the heating will be on for an hour in the morning starting Monday (assuming the temperature drops) and thats all!

It was 1 degree outside, on Wednesday last week, so we did have it on for a couple of hours. But we've been heat-free since, and hoping to at least reach the 1st November before needing it again :)

Outside the temp is up to 11 degrees and inside its 17, the stat hasn`t clicked on at all (i turned it down yesterday to see if we could tell the difference)

I have the upstairs windows open to air through and although the air is a little chilly its nice and fresh.

I shall be reading the meters this weekend so i shall be able to tell just how much difference its made to my bill.

I read my meters on a Thursday, the use of the convection heater in the lounge has pushed our electric consumption up by about 1kwh per day, but still averaging less than 8kwh per day.

We had the gas CH on for three mornings (set at 15 deg ish), and have extended the hot water heating times by 10 minutes, have still averaged less than 10kwh per day for this week, our summer useage is about 5kwh.
During Januarys cold spell last year, we were using 45kwh per day!

    Bring on the mild weather!
  • Still OFF ! :T

Hubby bought a small Callor Gas fire from a camping store though so that is helping.

I can manage, it's the dogs we feel for, I know they have warm fur coats but they still feel the cold and it's not natural these days as their not 'bred' to withstand such conditions :o

Have just had the meter man come read the meters so am waiting for a letter from the supply company telling me theres been an error as weve used less gas & electric :rotfl:

Keep warm and dry everyone :j

    Anyone else?

    Counting down [STRIKE]25th[/STRIKE]:D, [STRIKE]26th[/STRIKE]:D, [STRIKE]27th[/STRIKE]:D, [STRIKE]28th[/STRIKE]:D, 29th, 30th, 31st then have a think about putting the heating on

Doesn't look that much when you see the dates like that does it?

Who else needs a bit of moral support to get through the mornings next week?

I'll update again tomorrow as I'm off to warm up in fleecy bedding now! Welcome aboard everyone, let's stay strong together and see if I can hang on to not put the heating on for the longest I've ever done

Hey! How we doin? Over halfway there now for the week :j

My heating is still OFF and it's less mild here tonight than it has been, still ok though and coping fine!

4 days down and 3 days left so lets hope the mildness continues for a while longer.

And remember what I post below, its more important than worrying about keeping to the challenge

Don't worry if you don't manage this week. It's better to keep warm and cosy if you need to
