Sorry!:o:o:o:o
Well it was quite mild for me today.
Then again I thrive in cool temperatures so maybe that explains it.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
On for a few mins before I get up in the morning. I cannot get out of bed otherwise.A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0

Ours in on in the NE Scotland. Have just come back from holiday in fife where our house had underfloor heating so coming back to nothing was a shock. House temp was 10c.:shocked:Sealed pot challenge member no 1057

I'm running the gas back boiler for about five hours an evening now. It drives out the damp. Living near a swamp is something I'd think twice about doing again - cold and extreme humidity is the worst combination for discomfort, and it's terrible for the house. The two don't typically go together, but when they do it's grim. If I don't use the boiler every window and mirror in the house, from the sitting room to the bedrooms fog up like someone has had a bath in every room when the temperature starts to drop later in the day, and I can feel the damp on the walls and furniture.0

I lived in a freezing flat with no central heating when we were first married, whoever got up first put the fire on. It cause no end of petty arguments.
Northing worse than an artic bathroom, apart from having a wash in cold water as well. Wakes you up Ok but sure puts a grey cloud on the morning.0 -
I'm nice and warm now after cooking a tea which was nice and hot - delightful chicken risotto and glass of alcohol to warm up too. No risk of the heating going on now. Looks like its very hot evening meals all week next week to count down until the 1 Nov, 8 days to go until I will put it on if needed (must remain strong!)
Gas costs for last winter
£230 / 12weeks £19.61 p.w for heating on for 30mins am and 2-3hrs pm plus cooking on the gas hob
When the heating is off Apr-to now
Only gas used is to heat the hot water for 30mins a day and on the hob for 5mins in the morning when I have porridge and not every night
On my energy tracker my gas use has increased every month even when I haven't had the heating on since April and don't use the hob every day either!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Heating is now on 7.00am-8.30am and 7.00pm-9.00pm with thermostat set at 22deg. The bedroom rads are switched OFF and bedroom window open though - can't abide a warm, stuffy bedroom AND bedroom doors are kept closed. We're open-plan and all the heat just goes straight upstairs - I'd rather trap it at the landing - it's NOT getting wasted on the bedrooms
.
We have an electric fire but I refuse to have it switched on; but when visitors arrive in winter, I will put the flame effect on because it's very convincing and looks so warm and cosy.0 -
I've just gone really freezing in the last hour, time for bed maybe. Looked out (through the three layers of curtains-whew!) and all the cars are covered in condensation type stuff ,looks like a bit 'o frost before morning, brrrrrrr.0
