    Anyone else?

    Counting down 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th, 31st then have a think about putting the heating on

Doesn't look that much when you see the dates like that does it?

Who else needs a bit of moral support to get through the mornings next week?

I'll update again tomorrow as I'm off to warm up in fleecy bedding now! Welcome aboard everyone, let's stay strong together and see if I can hang on to not put the heating on for the longest I've ever done!

"The Final Countdown - Let's all stay strong together until the 1st November"

Anyone else want to join and we can stay strong together for the final 7 days? The weather is tempting me but I am trying to stay strong and keep my willpower strong too.

I'm warmer now I've dug out my fleecy housecoat thingy and tucked up under a blanket
I'm in (for my gas heating) - will still use coal fire though. Our temps are set to rise a bit for the next 10 days by the looks of it so hopefully it'll be ok.

I couldn't find the post with the recommended temperatures. But I hope everyone will be sensible about the challenge and keep themselves warm by whatever means are available to them.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

me gonna jump on to that bandwagon too as dont have a choice!!!!!!

Our boiler is not working properly for a long time now so heating has been off since April(if not earlier)!!!!!!!!

We have not used any hot water bottles nor got any other type of heating!

having to fork out around £1200 to get a new boiler, so if the bill is even a tiny bit lesser( for not putting heating on cos it aint even working) would be a welcome relief!

    I'm in.
I cheat a bit by putting the oil filled radiator on in the evenings - but the heating's not going on 'til Nov 1st.

Went to put the bins out when I got up and, omg , the lids were stuck with frost.

Luckily only Household Rubbish and Kitchen-waste bins for today, so was quicker than usual. Very happy to see that, in the couple of minutes I was outside, the heating had clicked 'ON' :j.

I found it NualaBuala - it was further back than i expected.

Well it got down to minus 3 last night but stayed a steady 18 indoors, i worked the late shift so when i got home it was cheap leccy time so the washing machine etc all went on, i actually used the tumble dryer for the first time in a while to dry the dog bed covers so i`ve had a window open all night in one spare room to let out the air from the dryer.

Not as much condensation around today which is a welcome relief as i was starting to find little mould spots around the windows, i`ll have a quick wipe around the edges later and check that there arn`t any more.

Looks like we`ve got some more cold weather headed our way so keep warm peeps.

Yes please count me in!! I've still got the heating off and I'm trying not to use the gas heater in the living room unless its really necessary (and even then only for short periods - think I've used it twice).

Wont be putting the actual heating on until 1st Nov at the earliest but I'm going to try and see how long I can last without it. Suspect it wont be much after then though as I had to scrape the car yesterday (had borrowed mums for the weekend) to take DS swimming and when we came out (about an hour later) it had frozen again!!! Temp in his room just before bedtime last night was about 9C and so was my room but during the day it seems to be a little warmer. Its chilly but I just keep adding a cardigan or dressing gown and it seems ok again and DS doesnt seem to feel the cold at all!
