Is your heating ON or OFF?

I've had to relent and put the oil ch on for an hour each morning and night this last couple of days as the weather has been really damp, and the air has a damp feel to it in the house.
I was hoping to go until Oct so not too bad really, and it also is helping to dry the landry. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).

Definitely still off here, but am having the problem of washing not drying inside.0

The heating is off.
I still only have the 4.5 tog duvet on the bed. :eek:0 -
Heating still off here and windows and back door open until we go to bed! (central London)
I did notice the house feeling a bit damp last night what with all the rain though, so I might blast it at the weekend to dry the place out a bit, and dry the week's laundry.Mortgage£148,725 Student loan£13,050 HSBC loan£12,221

I gave in and put the 10.5 tog duvet on the bed, with a fleecy blanket. I also put a blanket onto each sofa for additional warmth. I'm holding out for October.....Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Same here in deepest darkest rural Lincolnshire. I'm really warm today and still in short sleeves, back door wide open, I slept with the bedroom windows wide open last night. I did have to put the tumble drier on last night for an hour to dry his lordships uniform as it's been damp all day, but it's still not cold."A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

I had been boosting the system for the heating, but decided to put it on to come on automatically in the morning, last night.
Got up this morning, no heat and no hot water, seems the automatic valve has developed a fault, just as well its now and not in the depths of winter.
And even luckier I have a service plan with my oil company which covers an annual servcie and parts and labour for any other callouts during the year.
So have had to put the emmersion on for hot water for baths .My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).

Last year it didn't get switched on until November as I was out of work and we were on a very tight budget.0 -
Mine is definitely off .... my boiler has conked out so I've got no hot water either until thursday at the earliest, depending on whether they need to order any parts for it.
It seems boilers are apparently going on the blink at a rate of knotts atm and that's the earliest an engineer can call. Not funny as my joints ache like billy-o today too with this damp weather and bang goes the idea of a long soak to ease them in a hot bath too.
I've just got this problem as well.
The boiler has been working fine for hot water and fine if I used the boost for an hours heat to dry some clothes, but put the 2 on together on timer and its a no go for anything now.
Engineer coming tomorrow pm (anytime after 1pm) but that was the only time they could fit me in til next week.My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).

Off. I don't fee the cold TBH. If the kids are cold I tell them to get their PJ's/socks/dressing gowns & get into bed & read! But on Fridy I did switch it on for an hour.....but I got too hot.0
