The heating is off in every room other than my little girls room as we have underfloor heating - It is pretty cold in our house but I have now go on so much about the bills and cost of things to my other half that now he is dictating to me when we will be able to put the heating on LOL!
    I am DEBT - FREE!?!?

As soon as I got the chimney swept it seems to have got milder here again. Today is lovely and sunny and the sitting room has warmed up nicely. It looks I will make it till October before the heating goes on, maybe longer! :j

Hope you soon feel better. It is essential to be warm enough when you are ill or prone to illness as trying to 'tough it out' can lead to developing all sorts of nasty health complications otherwise.

Off at the moment, however, we did turn it on a few days ago when it was quite cold - figured that was as good a time as any to make sure all the radiators were working properly! LOL

Goodness!!! No shame in putting heating on!!!!!!!!!!!

    Especially when you are poorly.

To everyone else, just putting it on for 15 mins to heat the rads is enough to take the chill out of the air and if your house is well insulated it should keep that heat for a good while... Its really not worth being freezing in your own homes

Husband tested it last night when I went out for about 20 minutes. Came back and thought I was on a tropical island:rotfl:

It is not a competition it is about what works for you. We will hold out as long as we can here. Husband has got some thermals but I think he needs a few more just to tide him over the winter.

If you are sick, have young children or a disabled person in the house (my husband :() please put the heating on. I rather eat beans on toast for weeks on end then not put the heating on when needed. I have always told husband if you feel cold put on some extra clothing and a fleecy blanket and if that does not work put the heating on.

    Yours

  • Well its been a warmish day, but it has turned into quite a chilly damp evening, both my daughters are not feeling too good, some kind of cold/virus thing, so I have popped the heating on, will only be on for a couple of hours, not having them being cold when they are ill.
