today through the day it got quite warm. it started off very grey and bit drizzally. but slowly the clouds broke and the sun was so warm. i was really surprised as last couple of days it has been so cold.
we had one day when it was on for 10 mins, but hasn't been on since. if it stays like this then it will stay off alot longer than fist thought.0 -
Still off here in the West of Scotland. It was so cold last night that I almost cracked but then decided I'd add my thermal vest to my ensemble which already consisted of a few layers (inc a fleece) and to light some candles. The 8 tealights burned for about 4 hours and took the chill off my living room :money:
I want to hold out till 1st October at least but possibly longer as I can't bear to think of paying for 6 months heating, as we normally still need it in March0 -
Have had the oil heater on the landing on a few times, but only to dry the fresh paint on the skirting boards.
It was 16.5c at lunchtime here today.
We draw the curtains when the sun goes down, the lined one on the front door and lined ones with black out/thermal linings on the hall door.
We have velvet lined curtains in the front room and a vertical blind which you can close from either side towards the middle.
Have not yet switched on the gas central heating. :T:TFelines are my favourite
