Unusual for me... the heating is still off! I have a huge stash of candles that I've been amassing over the last few years... and I've taken to putting a couple on when I get in after work and letting them burn till we go to bed... I've also had to employ the tumbledrier so I make the most of that (it's not been used all summer!) and open the door from the small room it's in and let it try and warm the livingroom
I expect I'll have to turn it on soon though: Small person is refusing to keep socks on! ARGH!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

We've just turned ours on yesterday. It's only on for an hour first thing and then another hour in the evening, at this time of year......last year's bills were just too frightening!
I went up in the loft to get down all the jumpers and warm pyjamas this evening too.0 -
OFF, although I keep catching the OH with the electric fire on.
I just keep nagging him to put another layer on, what does he expect with wearing just a T-shirt!!!
Have just put the hot water bottles in the bed readyA creative mess is better than tidy idleness0 -

Ours is still off and is staying off for as long as possible. I have a debt with the supplier for gas and electric and have been trying to repay it and get back into credit with them past year (it rocketed after last winter, usualy we ballance out between winter and summer but just havent caught up yet still since prices soared). Hoping we can get it back into credit by the end of summer 2011
So its exercise, slippers, warm clothes, jumpers, and thermals, fleece blankets / sleeping bags on sofa, hot drinks (in thermos), wheat bags in microwave, heat pads, bed early, 3 duvets, anything but the heating and gas fire. Tumble dryer only when we have had nothing but rain all week (otherwise its in and out on the line between showers or on the clothes airer in the conservatry on sunny days). Heat from oven / hob to warm through house.
Dogs have donut beds to curl up into and fleece blankets to snuggle under plus wheat bags of their own for under beds.
ANYTHING but the heating and electric. If I have to go out to keep warm then so be it!:j
Failure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.

Crisp £ note,
My heart goes out to you, trying to catch up, sadly I know where you're coming from as I've been there.
Something I found helpful was to take a large piece of cardboard and cover it in a black bin bag on one side and foil on the other, put it in a sunny window foil side facing into the room, it radiates heat into the room, it's quite suprising how much, it all helps.
Very best wishes.
