Ours is off but oh so tempted! Did put calor gas fire on yesterday afternoon but that was to take the chill off as mil comes for dinner on sundays she lives in sheltered housing always warm in there, my place could be a bit of a shock to her system!
  • Hanging on until October - had the gas fire on a couple of evenings to take the chill off the living room, but apart from that the house doesn't feel too bad.

Mine is still off here in the West Midlands, I'm also trying to hang on for October although I did have it on for a bit on Saturday to test all the heaters still worked! (Landlord is pretty quick about fixing them but I still didn't want it to be really cold before I found out one was on the blink!) Thankfully they all worked!

Mine aren't on a timer except for the bedroom. It's strictly on as and when needed, especially as the thermostats are shot in two rooms so don't turn the heater off when it gets to temperature. Fortunately I have individual room heaters so rooms that don't get used much can be left cold. I am going to be getting the blankets out soon at this rate!

  • Relented yesterday as DH isn't very well (and it isn't man flu he really is poorly!).

Managed till mid Oct last year, but has been really cold and damp over the weekend. Neighbours have moved out too so no warmth coming from next door either!

Have timed it so it only comes on in the evening when we have both got home (about 6) and it goes off about 10. Have turned the thermostat down too.

  • It was really cold here over the weekend but I stuck a big cardy on and sat under a blanket in the evening. A shot of whiskey helped warm me through too :D
  • Lit the log burner this morning as it was a little chilly at 6am, the wood if free so didn't feel bad about that.

Mines is off but only because it isnt working grrrrr. waiting on boiler engineer coming out from British Gas, but, he wont be here until tomorrow morning!
  • I managed not to put the heating on until around November last year. I realised it would be a good idea to turn the heating on when DD and I were sat watching TV with our 'extra layers' on along with a sleeping bag each to keep us warm! The heating isn't on yet, I wonder how long I'll last this year...

generally it's off. but the kids have said last couple of nights when going to bed they are cold. so it has goneon for 10 min'.s they have 2 extra blankets on their beds, plus thick pj's, vests and sock's.

i don't mind putting on an extra and snuggling under a duvet in evening. but when the kids say they are cold then i don't mind sticking it on and keeping them warm.
