Living in central Scotland.
Been close to putting it on this week but a couple of blankets and a hot drink seemed to help.
Also trying to hold out till November. It has been the mildest October for years apparently. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

my partner is working nites at the mo, he leaves at 8 and comes back at 6 and goes to bed, wakes up at 12, by that time the flat is warm. i think if he was working days at nite if he had his way he would put the heating on, instead of a jumper. i jst get under a duvet when i feel cold, its cheaper than the heatingi will be debt free, i will0

cripes, we havent even thought of putting ours on yet ... sorry to hear some of you have had to!
my kids are pretty good, they love sleeping in thier socks! they also love those flannel pj's you can get from primark for a couple of quid each which are nice and fleecy and warm. they also have a fleece blanket each which is a snuggly (lol) and they tend to have that with them in bed under thier quilts.
couple of mornings they have grumbled about it being chilly ... but it just remind them to put thier slippers and dressing gowns on ... and they are soon ok.
im having menopausal hot flushes, so if we dont put it on at all i'll be happy!!!wading through the treacle of life!

Still no heating on here, but will be putting a slightly thicker Duvet on the bed tomorrow, as I'm waking up cold in the night Hubby's still nice and warm though, I must feel the cold more than him.0

Well aside from the fact that I can't have the heating on as I've got 2 rads off the wall, I've got wooden shuttering across the back of the house where the extension is being built and a ruddy great hole in the loft straight into fresh air.
A friend has leant us an electric heater but I refuse to use it - the heat will just escape through the loft and shuttering and what's the point in that!
Really don't think it's quite cold enough yet anyway. I was 22 before I lived in a house with heating - the day I brought my DD1 home from hospital, it snowed hard and there was ice on the inside of the windows....and however much I could cope with the cold, I wasn't going to put her through it.
Both DD's have come in from school tonight, got into pj's, fluffy socks and dressing gowns and had a hot choccy, they're now sitting on my bed watching tv all snuggled under a blanket.... long may it last."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Its still reasonably warm here in N.Kent, although they are forecasting it getting colder soon. About time..!!
I will admit to having the windows shut by 3pm now as it starts to get a bit damp then, but its not cold enough yet to have the heating on.
OH can't believe its nearly November and I haven't even thought about putting the rads on..:DMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Am I the only one who will NEVER resort to pyjamas? Even when it dips below freezing. Didnt even have any when I gave birth to my kids, went to go to the charity shop and got some there! We have an extremely thick fake fur throw that mum bought, that goes on the bed when all else fails. ANd I find it hard to sleep if the heating is on.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I don't wear pj's or anything for that matter in bed....but I do have pj's for pottering around the house in. I can't sleep in anything no matter how cold - just feel far to restricted."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Well, we ahve put the heating 'on', and set the thermostat to trip in at 18 degrees c, but it hasn't done so yet.0

PJs are the absolute biz! I think they are the warmest, snuggliest, most comfortable items of clothing ever - and so versatile! Before now I have walked the dog in my PJs, done a spot of gardening, been shopping a few times and even been out for meals in them (!) - bet you've never worn a fake fur throw for a meal out
I know they're not desperately alluring (the fur throw wins hands down for style and chic) - but i go to bed with a hay box full of yoghurt and the dog, so allure is low on the list of priorities.
What happens if there's a fire or some other domestic emergency? Sleeping in PJs, a fleece and bed sox as I do, I feel happy that I am suitably attired for whatever the night might bring - mind you, as a newly wed you might feel the same about the fur throw:D0
