Am afraid here in the Midlands the heating has been on a few hours a day for the last week. DD instigated, but I didn't fight too hard 4_6_202v.gif

    sorry am so pathetic.....
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • I got "a man in" last week, who tapped the wall thoughtfully and said he reckoned a new pump was needed - we won't get that til next week, so are heat free, albeit by default rather than design.
It's still warm in the south, though, so no need for heating as yet.
My freebie Age Concern postcard thermometer thingy in the living room is reading temperature okay, so we have no cause for complaint.
  • No it's still not on in North kent yet although I was tempted tonight as it looked so grotty at 5.30.p.m. But not really cold enough so it's stayed off

  • Mine has been on - I have to admit to being a wimp! Living in a cold house with the ice on the inside of the windows and babies waking up with blue lips is luckily only in my past and quickly fading memory! I just love having a warm (not too hot!) house.

However the flipping heating appears to be broken, I can't get any hot water without using the immersion heater switch (im sure it costs a fortune to run this way!) and the heating only works when it feels like it. A bit chilly this morning - but it looks beautiful outside.

Hope we get it sorted soon, not having much luck with household items lately, the cat broke the toilet the other day, too!!!

I've just realised that there are two threads on this, both with similar titles and length.
Anyway, I'm chuffed because this morning was a crisp one, with some mist outside and I didn't feel cold with no heating on. (1 bed flat with double glazing and dry lined walls).
    Happy chappy

    No heating here!
OH has put it on in his flat though and it was lovely and cosy when I stayed there at the weekend. I must be getting tougher though as I woke up in morning on top of the duvet complaining I was too hot.
Still aiming for a switch on of November 8th, maybe I could find a minor celebrity to do the honours....:rotfl:

  • I did succumb yesterday afternoon, just for 15 min, I was freezing! but didn't need it that evening - strange....
  • Put it on for 1/2 hour on Saturday & Sunday but that's all so far.
