Nope not yet and I don't intend to until I'm shivering in my bed!

  • Central heating still off here - it's really warm (south coast) - I'm typing in (too much information alert!!) just a T shirt. Well done all hot water bottle users, thicker duvet snugglers and wearers of extra woollies.

Sitting here tonight wanting to put it on, might light the fire, or try to! hee hee.
I reckon that as you got the wood for free (I think I'm right that you secured a nice little free hoard?) then it doesn't really count as using heating, as it isn't costing anything.
  • Our house is rubbishly insulated so we have had it on as the mornings have been freezing recently and we've got a toddler who's been poorly with a cold.

Still holding out here, had a few lovely log fires courtesy of the free wood from last year (luckily I still have a coal hole :)) My kids have naturally gone towards putting on jumpers, having hot drinks and wearing socks in bed. No fire today as they didnt feel the need. If I have the oven on in the kitchen I stay in there anyway, and any sort of cooking makes it warmer. Leave the oven door open after cooking to let the heat into the room! (obviously turn the oven off) after all where did the servants sleep...in the kitchen:) We have a couple of throws which gradually creep up the bed as the weather gets colder, but no matter how cold it gets you aint never getting me in pyjamas unless - heaven forbid - I need to go to hospital LOL;)

I wish it would too. But must admit while I had heating on for a couple of days earlier this month - and I thought that would be it back on fulltime - surprisingly I've managed without since then, but it's been quite mild of late and I'm sure it won't last beyond this week...

Have laid and lit the fire in the living room on three nights, but still no central heating.

OH thinks I have gone barmy, as I normally end up putting the heating on mid September. When I got up to put an extra jumper on the other day, he said "for god's sake, just put the bloody heating on!!!"

I'm hoping to hold out until November.

I had to give in and have mine on for an hour each morning for the last week. It's pretty cold up here now, I live in a part of the North-East that seems to have it's own mini-climate, we're quite high up and if we drive 10 minutes down the road the temperature rises by a couple of degrees!

Had the heating on and off for the past few evenings but tonight I don't feel cold at all. I have a nice fleece jacket and fleecy slippers at the ready, just in case...:)
