Is your heating ON or OFF?

""Ours is still off. I've even had the windows open for fresh air. It is still very mild here. I am aiming for 1st December, only 24 more days to go, but will switch heating on if it gets uncomfortable - so far, so good; I know forking out for all that loft insulation would be cost effective in the long run!""
Where are you? Western Australia??!
We finally gave in last night - feel ashamed! lol!0 -
So glad I haven't given in and put the heating on yet. I had the gas meter read the other day and my bill was £43 for hot water only since August. It's a shame the next bill in February won't be so modest especially now that I'm jobless :-(0

well my challenge was nov 1st and now just taking it day by day would be great to hit Dec without switching it on though......
this is a first for me, normally put it on as soon as it gets even slightly chilly, but determined to have a low cost fuel bill ....2007 £1749
2008 £291.99
2009 JanMasscara £7.00 Feb megcabot books x 2 £20 XFactor tkts x 2 £58.00 (couldn't go though as they only phoned on day :-( ) foundation £7.99
total so far for 09 £92.990 -
It's so very cold here today - brrrrr.
My living room thermometer was showing 15degC earlier and I've got proper goosebumps. Just checked the weather at our local airport and it's 10degC at the moment.
OH isn't feeling very well and is currently hibernating under the duvet on the spare bed with his 'Thinsulate' hat on to cover his 'monkey's asre' :rotfl:.
We've had big bowls of HM Winter Veg and Lentil Soup for lunch and I've over-ridden the c/h timer to get the place warmed up before the evening comes (I'm sure the temp will drop further tonight). Going to close the living room curtains in a minute - no point in warming the inside of the bay window!!!!!
Need to go out in a few minutes, to put leaflets through some letterboxes and after that I'm in for the rest of the evening/night!0 -
i have put it one for a bit first time this year im just so cold even my nose is cold lol0

I've had mine on since Monday. It's so cold here and we've all got coughs and colds. However, i do find it more economical to leave it on low permanently in the colder weeks, than shooting it up to high for an hour every night. So, we're nice and warm all the time instead of freezing then sweating!!Cheer up. The worst is yet to come - Mark Twain0

It's off...and it's staying off for now. Blankets and coal fire are the way forward...might have to put the winter duvet on the bed though, we've got the middle one at the mo but it's not going to be long.*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!NSD Jan 2/150
