I've turned mine back off again, except for 45 minutes or so in the morning to take the chill off while I'm getting dressed. Having lived in a series of very cold flats which needed heating all year, it's so nice to be able to have the heating switched off at the end of October!Back after a very long break!0

:eek::eek: With a husband with Raynaud's disease and an invalid friend staying here, I'm afraid ours is on and the living flame gas fire in the lounge is being used more than I would like.

That sounds reasonable to me, Bella. I always work on the basis that, if I need heating, I switch it on - life's too short to spend it being cold for the sake of it. And that goes double if you or someone else in the house is ill, I think!Back after a very long break!0

Hello
This should help! apparently its indian summer week this week with some parts of the UK getting to 20degrees and even Glasgow getting to 17degrees. This is supposed to last to the weekend when it will be rainy. So that's another week without heating for a lot of us.
Best Wishes all

We've not needed any heating on despite the fact that I was'nt going to switch it on anyway.
It's been rather pleasant here.I got six loads of washing bone dry outside yesterday, never done that for ages.0 -
Had to get under a blanket Saturday night whilst watching tv, but other than that haven't needed the heating at all yet. Doubt we will through this week either if the weather prediction is correct!0

I read in the paper that they're apparently forecasting a mild winter, so if the "Barbeque Summer" is anything to go by, it's time to get out those thick woolly sweaters. I'm in two minds about a mild winter. Obviously it will help reduce the heating bills, but if it's genuinely a sign of global warming, then it's a very worrying symptom. Plus, as a gardener, a few frosty spells will help kill off some of the garden bugs, which will be no bad thing. Whatever we get, somebody will benefit somehow.0
