Is your heating ON or OFF?

This is a strange article - many Americans are having to fight for the right to line dry their clothes and are campaigning for 'right to dry' laws:
http://www.treehugger.com/files/2006/10/do_clothes_line.php
Last I heard six states had passed laws permitting people to line dry. Currently community / housing groups can prohibit line drying as it brings the neighbourhood 'down'.
this does not suprise me at all, when i lived in the states the only people that line dried their clothes were (at least seen as) the desperately poor variety, everyone would look down their noses at it even to the point of traveling a few miles from home in the car to go to a laundrette to dry their clothes even if they had a washing machine at home!
i LOVE line drying my clothes, i like the time in the sun, the birdsong, the smell all of it and i'd fight for the right to do it if i had to, thankfully though the UK is a lot more practical about these sorts of things0 -
Beautiful today, temps forecast to fall through the next fortnight, from 11 degrees at 0600 this Friday, to -1 at 0600 on Friday 13th... Hope to hold out at least another week without the oil heating on, but will light the open fire at the weekend after the chimney has been swept. All the curtains are now lined with fleeces, DDs are now using hot water bottles with enthusiasm rather than turning their noses up, and snuggling under fleece throws to watch TV.0

It's beautiful here today too.
We've never even considered putting the heating on,unless we get snow we're doing like we did last year no heating till Dec.Did'nt hurt us then and won't now.
Must have been quite cold through the night as we had lots of condensation on the windows when we got up.
When you consider how cold it was this time last year though it realy is lovely.
I remember getting food ready for a party this very day last year and it was so very cold.0 -
Mine's still off too.. I cannot afford another £1200 bill this year so it may well be staying that way. I have a little fan heater I put on for 10 minutes to take the chill off when the children are getting dressed for school.. but they'd get dressed in the cold just as slowly.
I can't believe that in 4-5 weeks the christmas trees will be going up!!!
I have noticed I am now telling children to get jumpers on and socks and I routinely put mine on though.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Still not put the heating on here.... did turn the heater on in DSs room a few nights ago when it was really cold, but it wasn't needed as it didn't get that cold. Our house is surprisingly warm still, in fact, the patio door is wide open as we speak. DS is still going to bed with just a t-shirt or long sleeve top on, and OH and I are still sleeping with the window open at night

The central heating is off in our house - will be wearing extra jumpers and sitting under blankets until it starts to freeze to keep the bill as low as possible.

Heating is still off here (South East) and it's 20 degrees indoors. Balmy! I can't believe I will make it to November without putting the heating on. Ok, I have been cheating with sitting in bed with the electric blanket on (yes even though it's 20 degrees I like to feel [STRIKE]toasty[/STRIKE] roasty, lol.
Now my next goal is to get through November without the heating on. It would be great if people posted which part of the country they are in and the temperatures indoors.0
