we put ours on a couple of weeks ago when there was that really cold spell. However the thermostat is at 18 and it's not really come back on, once or twice in the mornings. I think we could've lasted til our original target of Nov 1st but we (well DH!) caved in!!

Well done to everyone who made it to 1st November :D

Although it is cooler here today,an awful day actually with rain and gales,it is still not really cold enough to warrant putting the heating on so I am going to hold out a bit longer.

Our heating is on now, just to cover the time when we get up in the morning, and for a couple of hours in the evenings. However, the thermastat is set low and we always put on extra layers before we think of turning the heating up. I also coordinate doing my laundryto coincide with using up surplus heat from bathroom radiators, which are fuelled by our hot water system, to speed up the drying process.

It's been wet and windy here but indoors the temperature is 20 degrees. Not sure if thermostat is working as it's been that temp all day. Still no heating on and cannot believe I've made it this far. I just hope we continue with the mild weather!

I'm sitting here in a vest top... did have a teeshirt over it but I got too warm. So my heating is still very definitely OFF. I can't believe how warm it is! I've had the slow cooker on all day but I had to open the window to cool the place down a bit.

So if anyone has a slow cooker, when it does get a bit cooler maybe you could move it into the living room to take the chill off the room! :rotfl:

Mine's still off - hooray!:j I've been tracking my gas and electricity on https://www.imeasure.org.uk and it's really motivating me to keep mine off as long as it's not too cold.

Today my sitting room was 22.5C at one stage and I'm roasting now after cooking dinner so I really wouldn't want it on even if I wasn't trying to save money and improve my carbon footprint. Hot drinks, cardis and fleece throws are doing the job just fine so far so I'll be joining those who are holding out for another while.
