Is your heating ON or OFF?

We've had realy strange weather today for the time of year.
It's been very mild and we've had a couple of realy heavy storms like you expect in mid summer.
The flash flood type.
When you consider how cold the end of October was last year,it's positively tropical at the moment and I'm not complaining I can tell you.0 -
I am not in this competition. Since oh put the new pump in a couple of weeks ago ours has been on. The thermostat is in the warmest room and set at 17 degrees. It is set for 2 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening. So far the weather hasn't been too bad so it is not turning on very often. The house is a comfortable temperature. I HATE being cold.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

My central heating is, at least, now capable of being switched on
. The engineer (plus apprentice) arrived this morning, and the problem had been caused by low water pressure. All sorted within minutes and they left after putting back everything that was in front of the boiler - very nice men

Ours went on for an hour tonight as hubby had been playing football in the rain and I thought he needed it on!! Went straight off when we were both showered and dried though and I really hope to leave it off until 1st November now. Don't have a wood burner or anything and don't dare use the gas fire so the heating is our only option. I do love snuggling up with blankets though!! Got two mini wheat bag teddies in a shop tonight which is just that extra boost...both of us have ours shoved up our pj tops :rotfl: cheaper than putting the heating on though!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member #398 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

Currently awaiting the outcome of a PPI claim which may bring forward my DFD, fingers and toes crossed!0 -

No heating, I've been in a t-shirt until it got dark and DS was wandering around bare-chested. I'm the only one with a hot water bottle tonight but I made a wheat sock for the dog, he had surgery and his tummy was shaved, and he's snuggled up with it. The shower tap broke in use this evening and wouldn't turn off so the hot water is off at the tap in the airing cupboard, plumber coming out in the morning - it was only installed a year ago so I'm really cross, and DDs won't be able to shower in the morning, so they're even crosser.0

Heating's been on here, but only for a couple of hours in the evening. We're up in the Hebrides and it's been getting chilly, but it's not too bad.
Got cavity wall insulation done earlier in the year and that's made a difference. The last oil tank fill only took 400 litres instead of the 800 I thought it would need. Fingers crossed that carries on through the winter.0
