Mine is off. south facing bungalow and gets the sun all day. Anything above 17C is fine for me.
  • not had it on at all yet this year. It's very warm here in the eaast midlands...presuming it must be nippy further north though if people have had their heating on already.

Still don't need it here in Somerset!
Oh dear, here we go again.
  • Not that bad in Central Scotland. Lowest its been up here is 12.5C for one or two days. It's been about 15 today and clear skys all day. Last year I had the heating on on some days during the summer and it was certainly on by mid-September never mind October. I'm sure this far it has been a bit milder than last year. Maybe it's just the habit of reaching for a jumper. And then another.
  • Still off here in Liverpool and the house isn't even cold! I had cavity wall insulation put in last year and the house has been soooooo much warmer since then. The kids have the 13.5 tog duvets on but I am still using the 4.5 tog one and it's fine!

  • Ours is still off, we had double glazing and a new combi boiler put in over the summer and not had to put it on yet. Our thermostat is showing the temperature indoors is usually 19 or twenty degrees although has gone down to 17 early morning but soon warms up again during the day.

Not really got a date in mind to turn it on but hoping to leave it off as long as possible and use blankets and hot water bottles in the evenings if needed.

A bit chilly this evening, but I'm wearing one of my handy fleeces and now having a nice cuppa from the flask, which I have filled earlier and will keep me toasty for the rest of the evening. A few pennies more in my pocket rather than in the energy companies' coffers. :D
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Today had a "job at risk" notice. Heating off for as long as poss. Aiming for late November and then just on to air the house until December.

Fingers crossed for a warmer winter

Indeed, I have to question all these people who wish for cold winters and lots of snow. They obviously don't pay their own heating bills.

tonight my heating is off, i live in a basement flat in scotland (west coast) today was dry and sunny so put a wash out to dry. i work 5/7 days and leave home at 7.30am, when i finish at 4pm i browse shops, come home, cook, get snuggy in jim jams furry slippers and bed jacket as house coat toooooo warm, i go to bed around 10pm to be up for 6.15am so i don't feel the need to have the heating on especially as i won't feel the benefit when im in bed so early.:T
