...still off.
For all the parents with small babies - when I was a baby, my parents used to tuck me in the pram and put me outside for my nap when the weather was well below freezing - I'm talking as low as -20 degrees! - this is common practice where I come from.
Babies seem to sleep longer and deeper in cold weather. And it still seems to work for me too!0 -

Lol! Hopefully not in a chest freezer (joke)0 -
I cracked last night and put mine on. I'd just got back from a holiday in a rather overheated hotel and my flat felt so cold in comparison that I couldn't resist any more!
It's only on for a couple of hours a day, though, and at the lowest possible setting, so hopefully my lack of will-power shouldn't cost me too much money!Back after a very long break!0 -
still off in my flat. It says 17c on the temp thing, but I feel ok. Lit loads of candles last night which seemed to make a difference0

Still off with me. It's been really warm here today but it's starting to get a bit chilly now. My slanket arrived this morning so going to try that out tonight whilst watching tvHow lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard - Winnie the Pooh0

Still off here but I am starting to feel a little miserable. I can always tell because my hands seem to feel a bit sore and more wrinkly for some reason!

I am just back from visiting my family in Italy (Sardinia) where I spent the last three days at the seaside, in temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees (BLISS!!!).
I live in London and the weather has been glorious for the last couple of days. We have the usual agreement in the family to try and make it to the 1st November without using the central heating.
Having said that, in mid-September I came back from a holiday with my husband, having left the twins at home (20 years old so grown up enough to look after themselves and the household!) and found that my son had put the central heating on at full blast a couple of days before "because it was a bit cold"! I hit the roof and told him that if he wanted a fully centrally heated accommodation he should move out and do it in his own home!
Of course if the weather changes dramatically nobody is willing to suffer frost-bite, but if it remains at a reasonable temperature (where we can live reasonably well with an extra jumper without freezing), then we will stick to the agreement - we make it every year and not managed to reach the deadline yet! LOL
We might also, on occasion, use the wood burning stove in the living room, as this is also a pleasure because it makes the place very cozy, with the flames as well as the warmth (and it is free because all the wood we have in store is scavenged out of skips or picked up here and there).
Watching this space! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Our heating is off, and we're trying to keep it off as long as humanly possible. I've got our gas bill down to £33 a month, and £26 for the electric, and I begrudge paying any more to some overpaid CEO who probably has a house in the Caribbean, and has no need for heating during the winter!
We have fleecy blankets, candles, thick curtains, flanelette sheets, and close all the doors to the living room to keep the heat in, and we use body heat (ahem!) too.Sometimes you're the dog, but more often you're the tree!:D0 -
Yup, as of a few days ago as it was chilly in the living room but not in the bedroom yet. I like it a wee bit cooler in there and just get all nice and cozy under the blanket but once the real cold comes..heat will be on in there too.
