Warrington - just down the 62!
Yes, the days have been good but a noticeable drop once the sun goes down! We've been sitting in the conservatory while the sun's been out and it's been lovely and warm but once the sun goes down we retreat to the front room which is north facing and quite cold!
TBH Everytime I check him he feels toasty warm but if the heating needs to go on it will!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Holding out for as long as possible- gas fire is on though.0

Finally put mine on for an hour and a half last night for the first time since late spring, as the house was cold after a few days away. Made sure I switched it off later so it wouldn't come on automatically today though. Am trying to wait longer until switching it to automatic (30 mins in the morning and 4 hrs in the evening), but being in the house all the time I think I might succumb soon.0

It's been quite mild today here on the south coast but over the weekend I've put the electric blankets on all our beds and changed to winter duvets!:jMortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000

I'm vey lucky in that my 1 bed Apartment only has 1 external wall, with double glazing in the window in my bedroom and double glazed door on to the balcony. The apartment is carpeted throughout and is on the 2nd out of 3 floors so am toasty! Thermostat is set to 18 and as I'm out at work most of the day when the heating eventually goes on it will only be on for a couple of hours a day. I have a combi gas boiler.0

Hey, Hob!
Do you have curtains up at your windows? If so, are they thick ones? It will not fix the problem completely, but if you can get some heavy curtains (e.g. velvet ones or lined ones), maybe from a charity shop, and keep them closed at night, that will certanly help keep the draughts out and will help with your fuel bills and keeping a bit warmer.
Also, if you've got really big gaps around the frame you could try packing them out with strips of newspaper to stop the draughts.
Then go and camp out on your housing authority's doorstep until they come and fix it!0 -
I did put mine on yesterday only to find that the pump has gone faulty. So we are feeling a bit cold now. Hoping oh will have alook at it (and fix it)Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

I really wanted to put it on yesterday! I swear it gets colder in the house than it does outside! However, I resisted the urge, put on another jumper and got my 2nd fleecy blanket out from the drawer under the bed, where it's been since about March.Because it's fun to have money!

Oh heaven, OH finally had a look at the CH yesterday and got it all working
After half an hour we had to turn it off as we were too hot. I think we have got aclimatised to being cold now.
