Mine's still off although according to thermostat the indoor temp was 13.5C this morning. It's at 15C now. Weird as I don't feel all that cold and ended up taking off a layer. I remember last year the readings were higher and I felt colder. Maybe I'm toughening up! :D
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)

I have turned mine down and reduced the time it is on for, however it is lovely and warm here now!

I'm about to enter the 2nd winter in my current rented house. Last winter it was bitterly cold in the house, and with only rather c**p storage heaters, I got used to being COLD. As a result, I got very good at layering clothes, sleeping with a woolly hat on (the inside of my bedroom windows froze up a few times) and generally insulating myself. The £2 fleecy blankets from Primark became my friends! :)
This winter I've added an electric blanket to my bed (which has made a HUGE difference already) and will be hanging blankets in the bedroom windows in the next few weeks.
I've haven't turned on the storage heaters yet and probably won't until November, but they aren't much better than useless anyway!
Because it's fun to have money!

Got the heat pump set to 18C in the sitting room, lovely and warm. The rest of the house is around 15C and my bedroom around 17C. These seem to be comfortable temps for me at the moment but will no doubt raise them by 2C once the cold weather comes.

I had to put mine on today :o not because I was cold but to dry the damn washing  I had 4 rads on for a couple of hours. Very annoying but the weather in the South East has been bucketing down for 3 days and all the washing to dry was mounting up everywhere. Grrrrrrrrrr
  • I'm not planning on putting my heating on until November at the earliest :A(I live by myself) but my sister confirmed earlier on today that she and her eldest son will be coming to visit on Thursday :jnext week until Sunday and I really can't imagine that they will be good and leave the radiators OFF while I am at work on Friday:rolleyes:!!!

I think I'll have to lay the coal fire ready for them to light once they get up but they are used to instant heat and might find the 15 minute wait a bit much to deal with! Maybe I'll just suggest that they stay in bed until I get home:D Wish me luck as I really would like to keep the radiators off for as long as possible and I may even teach them a bit about saving energy/money!!

hte weather has gotten much colder now so i put in on for a couple of hours in hte morning, the sun keeps the livingroom warm till late afternoon then the heating comes on again. we usually turn if off since we are cooking and the house gets pretty warm with that itself.

i have always been a cold person, got my bloods checked a while ago and it was discovered that i have iron deficency anemia and being cold is one of the symptoms going by google. so hoping that once my iron levels etc are sorted i will be snug as a bug in a rug lol

Heating is still OFF here but last night I changed the 'lightweight duvet' for the thicker one. Was so snug, I didn't want to get out of bed this morning :rotfl:.

Still got the option of joining the two duvets together - but that won't happen till around New Year when we normally get the coldest weather.

I turned mine on this morning ,for the first time, as there was a frost!! The temp in the living room was 15c which is too cold for me, hoping to manage with an hour each end of the day though.
