Heating is still OFF here but last night I changed the 'lightweight duvet' for the thicker one. Was so snug, I didn't want to get out of bed this morning :rotfl:.

I did the same yesterday too, winter duvet on, heating still off.
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • was quite chilly last night

Dont worry too much about his hands (or feet), a good way to find out if your little one is cold before they can tell you is to feel their backs (maybe the tops of their arms/back of neck as well) - if they are cold there then extra layers and maybe the heating on then!

Catowen - lovely to see you :kisses3: Have you won that tractor, yet :D

For all those of you who haven't had their heating on yet, please go and check that it works; I tried mine earlier in the week and it didn't (and by this morning I had no hot water either  ). It's been quite stressful, but I've got it working now - I wouldn't want to be doing that in Nov or Dec :o

Heating officially off but had to put it on for 15 mins or so yesterday evening after we got caught in rain walking home from shopping ! Is set at 17 so once temp drops will come on automatically.

We recently switched from Summer Bedspread to in-betweeny lightly padded one and long sleeved jamas. Yesterday we switched to winter sheets/pillowcases.

Big bu99er-off duvet will come out next month I expect :D

Our heating is off but Oh keeps hinting, so will be starting with the coal fire soon.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.
  • ours is still off it seems to get a bit chilly in here mid afternoon but warms up again in the evening when i'm cooking.

I am doing Jacket potatoes tonight for dinner so the oven will be on for 1 1/2 - 2 hours which will warm it up in here a bit.

The baby is still kicking the covers off at night, so i need to be getting some more of the sleeping bags for her.

I reckon if it stays like this for much longer the heating will be going on

  • ...heating still off and will stay off until November.

I don't feel the cold yet, but I noticed that the temperature had dropped down to +15 degrees inside this morning!

When it gets colder, out come the leggings and electric blankets and winter duvets, but again - most likely not for another few weeks.

I like getting up when it's cold and sleep with my windows open, but need a warm bed in the evening - underblanket comes handy.. :rotfl:

Bought a couple of hot water bottles from primark for 3.91 each ,
did the job in keeping the bed warm !!
    The original janiebaby ;)
  • Mine goes on in the morning for 1 hour to warm house up before the kids get up, (soft mum!) then off till just before bathtime as cooking dinner seems to warm house up, its on for an hour and half then off till the next day!!

If I get cold in the eve i have a big blanket I put on, I try really hard not to put heating on when kids are in bed as I remember my nan telling me years ago its bad for there chests, not sure if thats true but eldest is 6 and we've still not had an illness that needed anything other than calpol..

So hopefully keep the bills down over winter doing this again, being a mid terraced seems to help though!!

Has gone to play on her own little world for a bit..... but its ok the voices in her head came too so she's not alone ;)
  • I think I may have to put the heating on in the spare room soon ( where my lizards live ) tis quite chilly in there atm..
