After reading some replies,I agree that we feel obliged to put heating on when we have smaller children. My youngest is 3 now and the other two are at school.I will be glad when this one starts hal day as by tea time my home is warm because of cooking the evening meal.If I am on my own I will be just wrapping a fleece around me.SWAGBUCKS Nov 17sbs redeemed; 2 x £5 Amazon

My heating is still off but I've been really cold today. I have 4 layers on and still cold so I think I will be caving in soon.0

We're having to put it on for an hour each day to dry our towels in the bathroom, they're just not drying without it. That's the only radiator that's on in the whole flat though.
What do people do about drying their clothes without the heating? We're in a flat so don't have a washing line and we have airers indoors, we find it's taking so long for our clothes to dry now it's colder and rainy.
We just had to give in with the towels as they were still really wet the next morning.
Also I find that mould appears if we don't put any heating on, so this is helping in the bathroom as some is trying to grow.Official DFW Nerd no. 082! :cool:Debt @ 01/01/2014 £16,956 Debt now: £0.00 :j

Yep my towels just don't dry indoors whenthe house is cold.
We're all out at work all day so no need for heating then but I've been putting the heating on for a couple of hours in the evening for the last week.
Once the house is warm I can turn it off and it stays warm until we are all in bed.
I've got Reynauds syndrome so I don't do cold, doesn't matter if I'm wrapped up and wearing thick socks and gloves, if it's cold my body knows it and my Reynauds kicks in...and I'm not wearing a balaclava in the house :rotfl:
I become virtually work/housebound during winter...can't do anything outdoors. I need to live somewhere hot!0 -
Mine is off. I hope to last out until the beginning of November if I can... maybe longer. There has been only one evening when I was nearly tempted but I snuggled under my lovely leopard print throw from Primark and was soon really cosy.0

Ours is off still.
Both the kids are away till xmas and usually it is my son who would be complaining of feeling cold so who knows when we will turn it on.
We have just started wearing our furry slippers again and it is cushion or cat on the lap time when watching TV.0 -
Ours is currently on.
We spent the weekend in Northumberland in a static caravan which was very chilly so once the bones have defrosted from that I'll turn it off/down as much as I can.Proud to be dealing with my debts
