  • I have been lighting the woodburner for the last couple of nights.
This keeps downstairs warm and I have put eleccy blanket on for 10 minutes cos I can't stand getting in cold bed.
I'm off hunting for wood next week in the woods near our house.
I also pick up a couple of wooden fruit boxes from the market that they throw away.
i break them up for sticks.

I'm still off! Resorted to hoodie and slippers and a cup of tea tonight... am definately going to try to hold out for as long as possible before the heating goes on!
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

I have had to put mine on following a trip to the doctors with my DD he said it would reduce her symptoms if we kept the house warm. Kind of pleased though as I was tired of being cold all the time!

  • I gave in today and put heating on only to find that it isn't working! I still have the 4.5 tog duvet on bed though thanks to the menopause;) - how come I only get hot in the night?

Ours is on, but on the thermostat so has only come on, on a couple of mornings. But today was the frist day it came on for an hour in the afternoon.

I try to avoid it being on, but with a 1 yr old at home and with my asthma it is not really an option to sit in really cold rooms, mind you by the same token too much heat and humidity is no good for my chest either lol.
