Sorry unless science has been turned on its head, woodburners, ranges, coal fires, oil heaters etc etc are all using fuel ( energy) to produce the heat.
Fair point, but wood is renewable, so doesn't count quite as much as gas or coal

Oh absolutely, I'm not making judgement on type of fuel, just pointing out heat is heatDo wonder though whether it would be possible to provide enough wood for everyone to only use that as a fuel source
Interesting thought, now you'll have me googling half the night:rotfl: Still it'll take my mind off other things

The heating is still off here but we are down south and it is still pretty mild.0

The main time our house gets cold is during the day as the heating is only set to come on in the morning and evening. There is a chance I might be working from home permanently in the near future, which could be an issue. If it comes off, I think I'll be investing in some thermal undies!0

Off - but we have mid weight duvets and snuggly blankets on the sofas if we need them. Would like to wait until half term at the end of October, but will have to see what the weather is like.

Definitely still OFF - infact - I'm sat here in shorts & a thin Tee although I did put a fleece on earlier but had to remove it when eating tea - too warm!
Having said that - I've washed the summer duvet for the last time this year today & will be making the bed up with the quilt later.0 -
I've had to put it o today, only because my clothes aren't drying on the airer :-(
I don't need it on for heat for me though, I'm in a Slanket and am as warm as toast!0 -
Off with the heating on with the thermal socks  It is pretty cold out tonight even the dog won't go outside (wimp!) Every penny I save is a penny Scottish Gas lose
Don't quite know how I'm going to dry the clothes though !

Hi
ours is still off at the moment, were in sunny yorkshire and today its definatley a bit colder, but the thermometer in my dd (aged 14months) room is 18 degrees tomight, where as its been 18.8 for a few weeks so had definatley dropped a bit.
Luckily we live in a warm house (inner terrace) and I'm hoping we wont put it on for a while yet.
I'm lucky that i'm a warm person , sat in jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt , but dh has his fleece on.
As long as my feet are warm in bed socks or slippers i'm quite happy for now, and luckily my kids seem the same. My little boy (aged 3) woke up last night and when i went in he said he was too warm. Hoping to hold off till nov if poss
