Is your heating ON or OFF?

I suppose it would make a difference how far north you are. I'm north of Aberdeen and we're very exposed as 2 sides of the town has sea around it. You get the wind coming off the sea from both directions.
When my thermometer thingy says i'm at risk of hypothermia, i'm putting my heating on whatever month it is!0 -
It's not cold enough here to put the heating on, although I did stick it on for half an hour on Monday as it was really chilly at lunch time, I was shivering, hasn't been so bad the rest of the week.
I don't really agree with the setting a date for the heating to come on thing, I go by the temperature in the house and if it gets cold I switch the heating on, obviously if it is warm the heating is off!
Having lived in a fairly damp house I am a bit wary about letting the house get too cold without having the heating on at all, better to stick it on for half an hour a day to give the house a chance to warm up.
There is a big difference in the temperatures people like to live at, we have a friend who likes positively tropical temperatures in her house all year round, personally I couldn't cope with it. Same with when we visit our parents, their houses are always far hotter than ours, we end up visiting for Christmas and sitting there in T-shirts sweating!0 -
Mine is off in the house and I sit here with a jumper on.
However, when I have been nipping back and fore to the greenhouse I'm in there in my t shirt as the heating is on in there.:j0 -
Haven't put the heating on yet. My youngest son use to go to bed in those fab grow bags you can get from mothercare etc. Kept him snug as a bug. If its really cold the kids go to bed in snug tracksuits and socks. They always manage to kick off their duvets but they still stay warm. And I get to sleep through ;0))))))))))0

Mine is staying OFF as long as possible. I did tell DDs that in my day we had no central heating, frost on the insides of the windows etc and it did me no harm. Their reply, 'Yes it did - because you're turned into a tight fisted, moany old bag who doesn't care that your children are freezing (whilst they're swanning around in T-shirts)'!
LOL sound like my kids :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:***Dont save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving***0 -
My heating hasn't gone on yet, here its coldish in the mornings, the evenings are fine so will play it by ear and put it on when necessary. As a stay at home mum on my own during the days, I don't put it on, just add socks and jumpers.***Dont save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving***0

It's been really easy down here in the south to not turn the heating on yet as it's still pretty mild at the moment. Starting to get a little chilly late in the evening, but by then it's only an hour a way from going to bed so we just deal with it0
