Is your heating ON or OFF?

  • The thermostat says it's 16 degrees centigrade so the heating is staying OFF. I refuse to put the central heating on until the beginning of November, no matter what. That cosy, quilted fleece I bought on ebay the year before last has been an absolute godsend and it will probably be going on this evening for the first time since spring.

It must have been cold during the night, I woke up with a hairy little face next to me - and it wasnt OH - the dog had snuggled up in the night.
  • Off - but I think the flats above and below are heating us a bit which is lucky!!

Putting heating on also depends on where you live I think. My son lives in London and has come home to the north-east for the weekend, he's done nothing but complain about how cold it is up here!

He's gone to St James Park to watch the football with my OH this afternoon and he's got his scarf on and a big thick wool coat! He'll probably be the only one there wearing a coat. :D

I don't know, he leaves here a tough Geordie and comes back a soft Southerner. ;)

Off at the moment. I really do feel the cold though, but it seems as long as my feet and shoulders are covered i'm almost ok (my feet, hands and nose are nearly always like blocks of ice =/)

I started a new job a couple of weeks ago and the air conditioning has a mind of its own and it's SO cold in the office, i've been sitting in a fleece for most of the week, so when I do get home, it feels warmer than it is!

Off at the moment. However we've just moved from a toasty tiny flat in London where we never ever had to put the heating on to a much bigger house in the Cotswolds and I'm starting to feel very chilly, I either need to harden up a bit or give in and turn the heating on.

Our heating is off. Completely off.......or so I thought....until I discovered today that my husband had sneaked one upstairs storage heater onto its lowest setting............get this.........FOR THE CAT!!! As for us, we are putting an extra layer on and so far, we are fine. I was aiming to go until the beginning of October, but because I am now reading my gas & electricity meters every week, I'm even more aware than usual of those naughty little dials going round, and I am going to hold out as long as possible. I really do not want to be paying those greedy energy companies a penny more than I have to. I'd love to keep it off until November. By the way, our cat has really ultra thick fur. I reckon he could trek to the Arctic and not feel the cold. Think he must have sat in his cat bed doing fake shivers or something!
