Is your heating ON or OFF?

Just a word of caution with the Calor Gas Heaters, when you burn gas it makes moisture, unless vented it can cause condensation and mould problems. A Kitchen is usually well vented, but a bedroom is not always.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -

I wouldn't use it in a bedroom. The kitchen is very well vented. I think that's the reason it's so cold. Honestly, I wouldn't really need a fridge, as the inside of my cupboards are really cold. It's an extension and there are loads of vents round the bottom of the outside walls. It wouldn't be used for long periods anyhow - really just more to heat the place up quickly.0 -

The best things I bought this xmas sales was a dressing gown and some slipper boots (like fake uggs!). I tuck my jimjams into the boots and put the dressing gown on and I'm McToasty! I luck lovely too!
Gas bill due this week so I'll find out how bad it really is! Last quarter was only £80ish! Hopefully a big one will shock everyone into letting me turn it off completely! :eek:House saving Targets:

We adjust the temp on a daily basis, and during the recent cold snap we turned it on earlier in the afternoons, but nowhere ready to turn it off yet, I'm afraid! We do wear extra layers, but if it still feels cold I'm afraid the heating has to be on. Never have it on overnight, as we always keep the bedroom window open a little whatever the temperature - if not we both get a headache next day.Resolution:

My heating is currently set to come on for an hour in the morning (in the hope that I'll get out of bed if its warm
) and between 10 and 10.30pm. This is really to make sure that if I do switch it on, it goes off at a sensible time. For the last couple of days I haven't needed to switch it on at all outside these times, where as a couple of weeks ago it was on for most of the day if I was in!

) together.

I'm glad the weather has turned milder because I got my electricity bill yesterday (all electric heating) and although I think I'm still within budget - confirmation of which depends on the revised bill for which I'm now waiting after phoning with an accurate reading - and it prompted me to switch off the heating
I wouldn't have done that if it was still freezing cold as it was earlier in the month!

I was still a bit in credit at the last bill. Since then, I haven't increased the radiator temp/timer or used the oven a great deal, so should still be OK (omg I do hope so!).
By 1st March, I'm looking to being able to maybe reduce the radiator temperature AND reduce the amount of time that the heating is actually ON and working.
By the end of March, I'm looking to being able to turn the heating OFF altogether - with perhaps only the occasional evening of it being switched on at all.
By 1st April it will be OFF completely.
I want to continue my DD's at the same rate in an attempt to build up a really good credit before next winter comes in.0
