I'd love to but funds won't allow just now. I do have plug in radiators if needed and the open fire, although the open fire is expensive to feed!Rosa_Damascena said:Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

I went out for a long walk today and I just couldn’t believe how mild it is for this time of year with no wind either. No heating here and if things carry on like this, it is just pjs and heated throw in the evenings.Current debt approximately 5000

Where I am it's meant to be highs of 16C on Friday, it's certainly too warm for heating, next week's also set to be quite warm too, if we can avoid the rain it'll be lovely. Just a pity it gets dark so early though, I'm back to leaving work in the dark again.ET22 said:I went out for a long walk today and I just couldn’t believe how mild it is for this time of year with no wind either. If things carry on as they are I think I'll be able to get away with wearing shorts for at least another fortnight.7 -
So you aren't a postman - the ones round here seem to wear them all year round.Bridlington1 said:

Not sure if you are all aware of this brilliant thread, Preparing For Winter?

It's all about winter preps inc ways to stay warm and cosy. It's my favourite OS thread!

I'm not a postman, the closest I ever got was doing paper rounds when I was a teenager.General_Grant said:

I just don't seem to feel the cold as much at this time of year as a lot of people do though, I blame young blood.
I tend to do a fair bit of cycling though so that ends up warming me up a bit anyway and when cycling I generally find shorts and jumper is more comfortable than jeans and t-shirt so naturally end up biased towards wearing shorts but adding more layers elsewhere.
Usually highs of around 10C ends up being the cut off for wearing shorts outside, a few degrees higher if it's the indoor temperature but Monday was sunny and it's often warmer on the coast at this time of year so I went with shorts.4 -
@ET22 - you're another OSer who avoided torrential rain yesterday, where do you live?!
@Bridlington1 - after my soaking yesterday I showered and got the cycling base layers out (despite never having learned to ride a bike) and they kept me nice and cosy under my jeans and jumper.

Am lucky enough to have been working from home this week and so got washing done on two days this week but am also mindful that it needs to go out as soon as it gets light and that I really need to get it down off the line by 4.30pm. I then make a cup of tea, get changed into super-warm gear and get back to my desk. We're 5 days back into GMT and I am finally embracing 5pm cozy-time!No man is worth crawling on this earth.

@Rosa_Damascena, Hi, I live in Merseyside. It did rain here today but it wasn't torrential and once the traffic has calmed down outside and everyone is home, I'm going out for a walk .Current debt approximately 5000
