Is your heating ON or OFF?

Finger crossed, I hope I can leave the central heating off now for the rest of this winter. The outlook is for continued mild conditions up until 8th Feb, by which time the sun is gaining in strength and day length increases markedly with each passing day. Unless we get sunless, 'Beast from the East' type conditions, solar gain and layering alone should keep me comfy through to spring. Last year I turned off the CH on 28th January, so here's hoping for the same again.

There was a proper nip in the air late last night but I resisted and stuck to the electric blanket at my desk into the small hours. I woke up to a frosty world!
Again I have no plans to switch on the heating this weekend, one thing about the smart meter is that you can pinpoint your consumption to your behaviour - and with the GCH on, the acceleration is rapid. Without the heating, costs can be contained to £5 a day.

Yesterday was mild and sunny almost all day so the lounge touched 59.5, overcast today and 55 was the best - with this Tues the only night due to get down towards zero for a week shouldn't need the fan heater at all.2

The heating has been off for much of this week and next week looks very mild for the time of year. February can be very cold so I am hesitant to say we are home and dry for this winter!
One thing I will say about a smart meter - seeing the totals in real time seems to have increased my tolerance for the cold. Which is fine now but I'll need to think differently in 20 years time when I am reliant on a pension. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

The weather is lovely and mild.
I am hopefully going to start using my washing line properly from tomorrow. I might put the heating on for an hour tonight when I wash my hair if it does get a lot colder after the sun goes down.

I have been freezing this week! I thought it was going to be nice weather.
The heating was on for about 3 hours today and I have just put it on again. I just checked and we are now £111 in credit.2025 GOALS

It has been milder yet felt colder.
My heating hasn't gone on during the day / evenings, but the frost prevention programme kicks in overnight which means I wake up to a smart meter telling me how how much I have spent on GCH that I have not felt any direct benefit from.
Its February tomorrow - good riddance to January! No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Your frost prevention program really shouldnt be kicking in, it should only run if the internal temperatures below 5c4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.5

Mild but dull so it's stayed around 53 indoors - Although not so mild it is meant to be mostly sunny tomorrow (only time for 14 days according to the BBC forecast).3
