^^ Warning heeded.
I haven't needed the electric blanket for the past couple of days - combination of external temperature and internal CH system (I have been particularly active of late). The start of February was a turning point for me, the sun streamed into the back of the house and gentle warmth was utter bliss! Rather than relocating what I already have, I bought another office chair recently and put it together earlier, so I'll be able to work in comfort of the warmth rather than in my chilly study. I suppose I may end up napping at times, but that is a risk I am willing to take.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.5 -
Reduced my boiler temperature by 5 degrees today, and reduced the time it's on (morning/evening) starting tomorrow.
I've also washed my heavy nighties ready to be put away. Much more comfortable in my short sleeve spring/autumn ones and bonus they dry overnight!3 -
Ooh,it was lovely earlier ,the sun was hitting the garden so I took my little granddaughter out and we sat in the summer chairs in the sun! Beautiful! We're back in now,the house is in shadow and it's freezing, baby's having her sleep so the heating is on.4

It is gorgeous weather today. Very mild and sunny. It doesn't feel like February. The heating is going to be off all day, hopefully. I got my Ovo statement the other day and we are still £130 in credit.3

I spoke a bit soon, boiler temperature has gone back up to maximum (I wasn't cold but not comfortable either), still fine with the reduced time (20 mins less in morning, 30 in evening).3

Very chilly when I went to SA at 9 pm last night to take in waste food delivery. 16 degrees in the house when I got up.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Yesterday was indeed beautiful. I pegged out some washing at first light and brought it back in at 5pm by which time it was perfectly dry - I knew this from lunchtime when I could see it spinning and dancing on the line. Small wins....
I took a radical decision the other day and turned all zones down to 12degC. The heating comes on only if I am in that room and I can't use the electric blanket. I wasn't working from home yesterday and the daily bill was just over £2 (inc standing charges) which makes a nice change from waking up and seeing £4 on the smart meter and not feeling the benefit from heating that has clearly been running overnight. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

My thermometer says it is 17.4 in my hallway. I just took a walk close to the beach and it is lovely and sunny out.2025 GOALS
