Overcast, around freezing now and not looking forward to the minus 6 expected tonight - doubt it will get up to 10 indoors before starting to drop.3

@mjm3346, that really concerns me. Can you get out to a warmer place during the day? And even having the heat on very low is better than living at the temperatures you're reporting - check for eligibility for cold weather payments, and anything else you may be entitled too.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

That's reassuring thanks, @mjm3346. You being warm enough is the main thing! I do find we get damp areas in the house if we don't heat throughout, but yours may not be affected the same.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I left my grill on by mistake for several hours yesterday. Not sure what that’s going to do for the gas bill, but at least my kitchen was warm. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

It's most definitely on! I know I'll not be happy when I do the meter readings this weekend but, needs must. DH who is 82 has limited mobility, AF and COPD so we have no choice. On the plus side, we do have a credit balance that gives us a buffer for this cold weather. Oh, to be young and active again ......Be kind to others and to yourself too.7

Ours is on as it felt so cold today. I had it on for an hour this afternoon when I got in and I have just had a hot bath and put it on again for definitely a few hours. I have had two hot water bottles today too. They really do work to keep your core warm.
The dog and my cats both have extra blankets on their pet beds and we put a fleecy blanket on the bottom of our bed too.Roll on Spring!
