Is your heating ON or OFF?

Mine was turned on for 2hrs at the end of September (I was away on business and apparently we had a cold snap)Not been on since. We can afford the extra costs - but the less we use the better for the environment, and geopolitics.South coast - but so far doing exactly what we would have in previous years. Although with better draft exclusion (in particular), and what will be a cooler thermostat setting at night.5

Raining on and off yesterday , will struggle to grandsons uniform dry. Definitely not warm at work even in summer heatwave it’s chilly, layers need to be worn. My living room was showing 15 , but I’m holding out as once it’s on I know it will be harder to turn off. I too abhor getting dressed in the cold .Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.5

Ours is off but will go on this week to ensure its working and all rads bled.
After that it won't be going on till November4 -
Ooh is it gonna come cold on oct 28th? That's my birthday and if the weather gave us 3 foot of snow (only to last the day mind, must disappear overnight) I would love that!arnoldy said:Can we set ourselves an aspiration of no heating till December? Detailed forecast until 28th October shows exceptionally mild weather. No cold weather in long range forecast either. Let's try and get a grip & make sure heating on Dec-Jan-Feb only, and we can use the £££s bunged to us towards holiday/saving/short break next spring etc
Where do you get your weather forecasts from @arnoldy?
Heating on dec-jan-feb only looks very possible here if the weather stays like this. It's not warm out there like, but not low enough evening temps to need heating on.
I might put a duvet into the cover when I do domestic nonsense tomorrow tho.....Shout out to people who don't know what the opposite of in is.3 -
On a pedantic point - how do people interpret the OP's question? Is your heating on or off?
When I answer I'm reading it literally - I mean that I'm content with the natural/ambient temp of my house, I've added no extra heat to it.
It makes me chuckle when people say 'no my heating's off, but I light the log burner in the afternoons' or 'my heating's off but we have the coal fire going in the evening now' or 'heating off but we all love our heated throws while we're watching telly' etc etc.
So is it only central heating that's classed as heating on?
(Sadly I doubt the OP @earwig will clarify as they haven't been on here for a good long while now.)Shout out to people who don't know what the opposite of in is.13 -
Heating is still off here. We did test it the other day. I'm about to go out for a walk on the beach as I want to make the most of the sunny days while I can.:)6

Beautiful day here in Berkshire contrary to what the weather forecast had originally said, so curtains wide open to let the sun warm the rooms up.
Heating is still off but I did keep the electric blanket on for a bit longer as I found there was a slight chill last night. Saying that I have a full on head cold which may be messing with my internal body thermometer!6 -
This always amuses me...I take heating as all formsYoungBlueEyes said:On a pedantic point - how do people interpret the OP's question? Is your heating on or off?

I am sticking to reactive heating, not putting it on a timed or thermostat.
I am mostly happy to have a blanket and a hot water bottle, or go to bed and read, but if I have loved ones here I will flick it on, or like this week it was cold, wet and I had got wet during work so put it on via the smart hub to be warm when I got home. so it's technically only been on twice this month so far. and even then it was maybe 30 minutes altogether.today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.
Living on my memories, making new ones.

If a log burner doesn't class as heating then we've not had the heating on for 14yrs
