@Cherryfudge I put my winter duvet out a good few weeks ago, as I got to the stage overnight where I wasn't cold, but wasn't comfortable either.
Still in spring/autumn nightie and nowhere needing the sherpa blanket to top duvet yet.

We've had some beautiful weather here the last couple of weeks @Cherryfudge. It's a wee bit cloudy here now but the sun is trying to get through so my first load of washing is out, 2nd load just finishing spinning now
Stamford Bridge is lovely, some great walks all round there.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -
The clocks coming forward an hour shortly means more lighting will be needed so I,ll probably shortchange the electricity company and go to bed earlier! And when the heating does finally click in automatically in the morning my clothes will be on the radiator so they,re nice and toasty warm to step into.4

Heating remains off, switched my 3.5tog to my 9.5tog quilt at the weekend. Annual aim is to hold out until November but it seems milder this year so far? Will hold out as long as possible.Aim:12mth Emergency Fund -> £14264/£17076 (83%) Aim 2: Mortgage Overpayment -> Paused until other aim fulfilled.4

The secret to holding off on the heating is definitely extra clothes layering, making sure the extremities like head, hands and feet are very well insulated as that's often where the cold is felt most keenly.4

I have thought about going to bed earlier as a significant cost saver. I'm not very good at it but I tend to sit up late on the computer and that means lights and perhaps phone chargers are on too.
Last night I put the 'electric blanket' pad over my knees and a throw over that - eventually I was so warm I was switching off and throwing off! Today is absolutely glorious, if a little breezy. Leaves are falling properly though some trees are still all green. The washing managed to stay on the line but it was probably a close call. I can hardly believe it's 16C and mid-October and I'm up here in the wilds of Yorkshire enjoying such super weather.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Supposedly an Indian summer will be coming to the UK for a week or two (albeit, I think this will be mainly south England). Anything that helps us all not having to put the heating on at all, or at least, on for less time and at lower temperatures.5

Not put the heating on here yet, so far. South facing so lovely sunshine coming into the house today. Downstairs is currently 18c and upstairs is 19c so that's pretty comfortable for us.

Slightly warmer outside (19.1c) than in here at the moment. Windows open removing moisture from the house. (Apologies to those where it is not so nice)4
