Heating is off here (Essex).  Is a bit chilly in the day working from home but layers are on.  Making sure curtains are closed early and candles on! Have to be mindful when condensation starts as we get quite bad mould in some of the rooms (our bedroom and lounge/diner - both corner of the house rooms and above/below one another).

  • Still off here in Berkshire but OH is grumbling so I think it will be on soon for an hour in the morning!

My heating hasn’t been put on yet, my house is a small 2 bed, built early 2000’s and mid terrace so stays quite warm and when I have the oven on it acts as a heater anyway. I’ve come close to putting the heating on the last few days but nothing a jumper/blanket hasn’t sorted

Central heating is on timer but we turn it off altogether if outside temperature is decent eg 16C. Tried to get a chimney sweep for last few weeks, without success.

Near Belfast here and I've had the timer kick in for 15 minutes at night for a few weeks now. Still doing wake ups with our 13mo so was getting sick of shivering at 3am! 😂

The rest of the time it's been off, but the last few days I've had to stick it on for 30 minutes or so in the afternoon.

  • An electric blanket solves the problem of waking up in the night and feeling cold. I was using just an electric heat pad for my feet but recent colder nights means the electric under blanket is now in use.

We managed to get our chimney swept just before the firebreak lockdown. He said he is the only one in the area now. (Swansea)

similar here, timer for the mornings I need to get up for work, but check the Hive before I head home to see if it needs to go on, At the weekend, like today, no heating on and windows open for some airing the house, or if its too cold, windows open for about 10 minutes then the heating goes on boost as and when I feel I need it, so a reactive approach I feel that works for me.
