Is your heating ON or OFF?

Yes, October 1st seems to be a bit of a marker in the sand but the air has felt distinctly childlier today so all downhill now. My OH doesn,t seem to mind the cold nearly as much as I do. I tell him that's because he has too much surolusnfat on him. Mtime to get the thick isocks and thermals out soon I guess.0

Our heating hasn't been on yet and the thermostat is current registering 23 degrees. I'm sitting in a vest top contemplating opening the back door for some cool air.
It was cooler at the beginning of last week - I had to defrost the car on Monday morning - but no where near cool enough to put the heating on.0 -
Still off but not for much longer. I've had to start wearing cloves on my cycle commute now and I did light the woodburner on Saturday night.0

Mine is still off. But I did get chilly yesterday afternoon. Luckily I have a couple of super-thick fleeces, which are like duvets! Put one of those on and I was fine.Because it's fun to have money!

No mine still is off as its not too bad down in the south east and today we are due for 18-20c so the longer its sunny and warm hopefully the shorter the winter:) I just put a throw around my knees if I am watching TV in the evening.Plenty to keep me busy during the day. Even a quick swish around with the hoover will get the circulation going and warm me up

I'm on the south coast ... sitting here and it's overcast, thermometer is showing it's 63F/17C - patio doors are wide open as I'm airing the room while it's not too cold.0

I have to say I was tempted to cave yesterday!
I am reasoning with myself, if I walk in the evenings I get to my 10k steps a day, warm up in the process and then can have a hot shower before bed = no CH required. I can sacrifice a social life, but I'm not overly fond of walking in the dark.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I gave in and put ours on yesterday. It went off in the sitting room when I lit the fire, we are still trying to use up coal from last year.
We are both 'over 65' I will not compromise on heating.......however if the sun shines into the living room, the room thermostat turns the heating off, if the fire is lit I leave the sitting room door open so the heat travels into the kitchen and hall.0 -
Still off here - I did have to get a thick cardi out yesterday evening and it has started to cool indoors but we can still get away with using a throw while sitting on the sofa. We have a thick fleecy one that's lovely and warm.
We have a house that is prone to feeling damp in the winter so I tend to go with the feel of the house to see if it needs to go on. We are normally good until very late October/November depending on the weather.LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
I'm sitting in my living room in a woolly hat! I just topped up my gas meter to prepare for putting it on soon. Usually I wouldn't bother yet, as I'm still ok in a jumper, but I have a social worker who visits me, and I feel like I have to 'prove' I have my finances in order and can afford heating - she commented on it being chilly last year.0
