I have to admit I mostly put the heating on if I have guests or my flatmate is cold/ill. If its just me I retreat to bed with a dressing gown and the electric blanket. Ofc I have to do this is summer too at times, but it feels so much cosier that way

I had to have it on on Tuesday evening, but it's been off ever since. That's the first use since Spring, and it was on for 3 hours.0

Sun was beaming in yesterday afternoon and today, but by time I have a afternoon nap after work, the house is freezing. Had it on a few hours last night and again tonight.0

I put the heating on upstairs tonight for DS2's bath - when I turned up the thermostat upstairs, the heating kicked in when it got up to 19°C. I was cold with a jumper & tshirt on while we were watching DrWho, but not enough to go & find a fleece for the sofa
.
We have 2 thermostats so can set upstairs & downstairs at different times or temps, so potentially they could come on anytime of the year if it's cold enough. Not been below 15°C yet as that's the lowest trigger for it.0 -
|Mine is still off. It's a tad chilly in the mornings now, but we wrap up warm, so all is fine.0

This morning the thermostat ran for its course of five minutes, but overall so far this Autumn, it has run for 34 minutes in total.

We have a Honeywell and the heating has clicked on a couple of times now.
The weather has been lovely but as soon as the sun goes in there is a significant sudden drop in temperature here.
Lit the woodburner in the sitting room for the first time last night- toasty
BoP - I imagine you look more like Jack Sparrow than a polar bear:rotfl:Not dim

I have oil fired central heating, but the boiler is over 40 years old and stopped working about two years ago. For a few years before that I would only put it on when visitors would come because it cost so much money to run. Now due to the lower oil prices, I am trying to get it working again.
Since the boiler is so old, it is not a complex piece of machinery. After replacing a few parts I have got it starting to fire and now it needs cleaned out and adjusted.
By the way I nearly gave up on the boiler in the spring when I discovered that starlings had built a nest in the flue.
The answer to the question in the title of the thread is "no, not yet, but hopefully soon"0 -
