My heating is on at the main timer but with the thermostat set at 18 it hasn't clicked on for the last few days, house is well insulated with DG wooden sash windows so is not cold. Last week did click on for a couple of the colder mornings. Managed to order 1000 litres of oil in the summer when prices were considerably lower, shopped around and got these for £380 but would expect this to last through to new year. Will not scrimp on heating as do not like being cold but neither will sit around in t-shirt with heating set to high!0

I so agree with this. I cut down/back/off wherever I can but not on heating. I have enough, umm..excess for my body to survive on for some time and buy YS everything so eating isn't an issue. I have copd so daren't get cold or it's another batch of anti-b's and steroids which I hate taking, so thank heaven for ch, loft insulation, dg and thermal undies!0 -
Off as always but I DID have to snuggle up in a throw yesterday in the evening as it felt so chilly when we were watching the rugby!0

Hi all , still nice here , had sunshine all day and outside 17 degrees washing all line dried , so wont be putting the heating on tonight ,.....But should it turn cold I wont hesitate to put the GC heating on , im another one that refuse to be cold and miserable, ive got 10 hundred weight of house coal in the shed , plus piles and piles of chopped wood , and a gas and elec account with lots of DD credit on it , which ive put on all through the year so that I can afford the heating when im cold ....My motto is " one life live it ".....:)0
