  • Nope - off and likely to be for the next while - at least till it starts getting closer to 0 degrees outside. I live on the 4th floor of a south facing, well insulated, apartment, with glass along the south facing wall. We've been catching all that low winter sun. It traps the heat it our living area. We'd the oven on for dinner and had to start opening windows as I was near passing out with the heat.

Bedrooms not so hot. But I'm certainly still with just a single layer of clothing on, maybe a cardigan/jumper in the evening if the oven wasn't on.

Outdoor temperatures are around 10-11 degrees according to weather report.

  • It's off but there is definitely a chill in the air today.

I only have my back door open a tiny bit to let in some fresh air and I will be using my new fleecy blanket later.:A

It feels colder tonight... Dd1 washed her bedding and didn't put her heated blanket on when she made it. Just been in to throw another duvet over her as she is always first to feel cold and if I'm cold she must be freezing!

Think it's time to get my TV blanket out!

I wish I could remember when mine went on last year! I know it was quite late as it was quite mild here. No heating here, we have gas central heating but before that goes on we have a calor gas heater, that goes on first. We used it last year in our kitchen/family room, with the heat from the cooker we were very toasty. We're doing the kitchen up at the mo so we're now using the front room more and as that's got open plan stairs (next thing to alter after we've done kitchen/ family room) I'm not sure how good the heater will be.

Our timer is broken so it is on from evening until morning and turned off during the day. When the temp drops further it will be on 24h to keep the house at a consistent temperature.
