Mine is off, temp is 14 degrees in the kitchen. I am wrapped up in jim jams and dressing gown, with a cuppa. Its my day off and I have no plans. I have a few tea lights lit in the lounge, makes it feel cosy. Trying to hold off as long as possible as I have pre payment meter and I find it really expensive.0

I put mine on yesterday, I refuse to be cold in my own home, for years I have suffered this cold house, now I am just going to keep warm and pay the extra.

We don't have central heating but I lit the fire yesterday for the first time this autumn. Can't afford any wood yet but sons found some coal on the road so we burned that.0

OK, I've cracked and put the heating on! Ice fingers were becoming too much to bear

So far heating been on once to test it was working and once to get some clothes dry I don't have a try er just a dri buddies and I think it's at the end of its life can't complain I've had it over five yrs
If it was up to me heating would stay off until at least November but sharing a house with teenage daughter might make that difficult I've been reading meters a lot lately so if it gets turned on while I'm out I will know I'm hoping to be out of this place next year downsizing to a bed flat or bungalow? Just be little old me and dog person can't come soon enough for me it doesn't make sense having heating on I can't use the fire it's electric and no cable miss placed it but it's not much good for the size of room so I'm going to be layering up today is first day I've had a card on in the house my hands are a little cold dog person is snuggled up on sofa with my covers mm I need a word about sharing me thinks oh well this won't get supplies in gonna brave the chilly day soon to get a food shop and I thing a lot of soup will be bought I'm the only one who likes veg soup so is easier to get a tin but will make my own once I move2nd purse challenge no040£0 Sealed pot challenge ???? £2 trolley find not counting small coins till end year0 -

This is a grey and white fairisle fleece, with hot pink trim and bobbles. If sensible is the new sexy, I think this has just enough frivolity to avoid being even vaguely attractive.

Model is not me. Even she can't make it sexy. It is however, fabulously warm and comfy. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Maybe you could make a couple of slings, and keep a cat in each either side of you, so they can act like little living hot water bottles curled up against you.
This sparrer is a darned sight bigger than the mogs! Like the slings idea though, one each side of me and the muttley on my feet, perfik.
Had the ch on for half an hour this morning while I showered. It's a beautiful sunny day now, garden door and windows open while I work. I'm in a cold draughty hall this evening so the house will feel warm when I come in, no need for heating tonight.
In the winter the ch is on at a steady 18c, 24 hours a day (have copd so I have to have heated rooms). If the room temp goes above that it turns of automatically, so any money saved over the spring/summer months give me a buffer for the cold weather bill.
The top looks cosy bargainbetty, pity they don't do it with sparkle. My favourite winter evening wear is thermal vest and long johns, winceyette jimmies, knee length 2.5 tog ski sox, long fingerless gloves and an old full length fleecy kaftan. Oh, and there's always the knitted beanie if my head gets cold. Not a pretty sight!!!
