It's on here today now. Got loads of washing about and it's about to rain. It will be staying on until I have either half the washing dried or i'm too hot.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.
  • My living room is about 16C and I feel toasty, have even got a window open to try to dehumidify the air. I think I may be from another, colder planet! I will have to close windows and defrost one room only with a blast from fan heater due to having visitors later... When they sit with their coats on and won't take them off it sends a big message LOL!

I've been working from home today, and although I have a halogen heater in my office, I didn't use it today as I filled my hot water bottle which I popped on my lap and I was toasty all morning. Just refilled after lunch for the afternoon, then central heating flicked on at 5.30 so warmed house up for kiddie bath time.

Will remember that one. When it's really cold I might put one under my desk too to rest my feet on :)

I only use log burner to heat house for now hoping to not use GCH until Nov, luckily daughter and OH have not complained yet as they normally do about being cold. Its slightly cooler upstairs but downstairs temp is around 22c with log burner on. I dry most of washing where it is, as it saves using tumble dryer but do use a dehumidifier which during day does keep house reasonable warm by a extra couple of degrees.

Good grief it is cold here today. Heating still off, mainly because I know once I cave in and put it on, it will be on until Spring! I must say it is difficult, I work from home on my laptop and sitting in front of it for hours means I do get cold. Just been out to feed my pond fish, I swear it is warmer outside than in here!

    Hung up my suit!
After the previous night, last night was a doddle, so still no heating on. I've found that a nice way to keep warm is to sit in my sleeping bag. :D

Getting complaints from my partner (who's up at 6am) and the lodger that they're getting a bit cold so the heating is on. It's on a Morning warm from 5.30 to 7am an afternoon defrost 5-6pm and a night boost from 8.30 to 9.30. And that's it. Anything else and they can put on another layer!

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...

I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!

Am off work today, had a high efficiency gas fire fitted a few year ago and put that on for the first time today as I am freezing

Will hold off as long as possible withe the central heating but will use the fire when we are cold. I cant bear being cold, dont want to waste money but at the same time will spend enough to stay warm

Still not used CH yet, as its to early in Oct, if it gets colder it will go on. I am lovely and warm as tumble dryer on due to dampness out side, i can-not have wet washing about due to my health, besides its not luxury to me, as i do use it whenever i need my washing dried.
