  • Still off here, DS complained of being cold while walking around in a Tshirt and his pj bottoms, he was told rather snappily to put something warm on first.

I was so proud of DD yesterday, she came home from work and told me her boss asked how many had put their heating on she told him no way is it cold enough yet and it is better for her skin not to have the drying CH on, she prefers the stove :D

  • OFF here in my corner of Essex, trying to make it to Nov 1. It's a high of 19 here today and my little top floor fish bowl is warm enough from earlier sun and the flats below me. I did finally shut the windows that I leave open all the time though.

I've been putting it on for a short while in the evenings to take the chill off as I am unwell with bronchitis.

I was hoping to get to Nov 1 but health comes first!

Mine is on morning and evening Fruball. Short bursts but enough to rid of the chill. A sensible person keeps themselves right when poorly. Hope you feel relief soon :)

    Still off here.

I think my downstairs neighbour has hers on so free heat for us !

I aim for October half term.
  • Just turned mine on, I'm freezing!! Am 14 weeks pregnant and don't like being cold, am already under a blanket but it's just not helping, only on low & as we haven't had it on since last winter its a good opportunity to check its working ok!
  • Mine is going on for 1 hour boosts when I need it in the morning and evening...I'm resisting putting it back onto 'auto' (which is only set to one hour at a time) as it will mean I have to change the clock on the timer...and then change it back on the 26th when the clocks change! ...

Yes, I'm lazy! :rotfl:but it's saving me pennies as it's not everyday I need it ;)

We have the woodburner on here in the North East, County Durham and I am wondering if that will be enough over most of the winter as it kicks out some heat, heats the room above and filters through to the upstairs landing. The kitchen gets warmed at tea time when the oven's on and we rarely sit down for long so it may be a possibility!
