Is your heating ON or OFF?

Still OFF for now, woke up at about 4am feeling very chilly so got up and added an extra layer of bed cloths.
Fool be me for going to bed in my summer PJ's with no bed socks
Might get out the hot water bottle tonight, just to be extra cosy

Still off, and not really that cold0

In Poole Dorset, it is cooler since the start of this month, but we have cavity wall insulation, good double glazing, draught proofing around the doors and insulation in the loft. So far we have not needed any extra heating. My husband has just added an extra layer of insulation over the windows in the front door and each side of the frame. The front of the house faces North. We just changed energy suppliers and our energy consumption is less that 2/3rds of the expected number of Kw hours for this type of house. I am still wearing tee shirts indoors and am quite comfortable.0

Doesn't feel too bad here. Thermostat in the hall reads 19C, but it's the warmest room with no external walls.
I had the heating on all afternoon and evening on Saturday, when I came home after a bad shock. But it hasn't been on since.Because it's fun to have money!

Ours is set to come on at 18c, so far it kicked in yesterday once when front door was left open while getting shopping from the car. Whether it kicked in during the night I don't know.
In our old flat the boiler was so old that when it fired up in the morning it woke us up with the most frightening sound, like a dinosaur trying to sing thrash metal......We didn't need alarm clocks..:rotfl:today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

Still off in Nottinghamshire- I live in a flat that is boxes in on 5 sides of the cuboid so my 'insulation' is great. Have had a light blanket on the sofa in the last few days, and swapped the flannel sheets onto the bed but other than that it's still pretty toasty most of the time. It's my first full winter here - took ownership in Feb. My last rental had crap insulation so looking forward to the cheaper energy bills here"Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

Allybee101 - I too live in a flat that is boxed in on 4 sides of the cube. It does make a tremendous difference. In fact, I found last winter that I didn't need the actual central heating on at all. One of those little portable heaters in the living room for a couple of hours in the early evening was all I needed.
My combined gas/electric bill is £45 a month. When I lived in a 70s house, it was £90.
My heater went on for about 2 hours around lunch time, but then turned off when company arrived at 1:30, and been off since.Because it's fun to have money!

I'm boxed in on three sides.
I think the crucial one is below, as you get the rising heat from the flat below. My combined gas/electric bill is £45 a month.
I can beat that.
